We live on the unceded land of the Awaswas speakers of the Uypi tribe of the Amah Mutsun tribal band. We are honored to be stewards of this sacred space.

Big fish! Big fish!🐟 🐟
It’s a very exciting Stream-ing Sunday with a big fish sighting in the creek…it’s a great affirmation of the project work that was done back in 2021 to return native salmonids to the San Lorenzo watershed…and we get very excited to see them!
We also recently had the privilege of being interviewed about the restoration project in cooperation with the Santa Cruz Resource Conservation District. You can read that article by Robert Ketley at linktr.ee/happyvalleycc titled “Catchy Ideas.” You can also revisit all of the videos on our YouTube channel of the restoration project to remove barriers to fish passage in our stretch of Branciforte Creek. ❤️🐟❤️

This time last weekend, we were deeply involved with the celebration of Happy Valley’s 75th Anniversary. It’s hard to believe it’s only been a week since we welcomed 100 folks from our family of faith in the Sierra Pacific Mission Center to help us honor the legacy of the past 75 years! It was a magnificent weekend filled with stories, shared memories, new connections, and the blessings of community. All the years of sanctuary and sacred space, community and collaboration, hopes and history combined and we went “Back to the Grove” in so many ways! Activities, workshops, hikes, and a capstone heritage dinner under the redwoods.
Thank you to so many of you who joined us, and to everyone who joined us in spirit.
Thank you for being a part of who we are and who we are becoming.
We look forward to welcoming you home again soon. 🌲❤️🌲

What a relief at the end of the hottest days of the year!
Stream-ing Sunday is the capstone to our 75th Anniversary weekend celebration…100 of our friends filled the Grove with story, song, memories, and so much love. We’re so grateful for such a wonderful weekend honoring the legacy of 75 years together, Back in the Grove!

This weekend, we welcome over 100 members of our beloved community from the Sierra Pacific Mission Center to celebrate a milestone anniversary for Happy Valley. In 1951, a group of faithful members of the church established a sanctuary for camps and retreats here in Santa Cruz. Now, 75 years later, we honor their legacy with a history of hospitality and support for sacred communities, and we continue to grow into the vision of innovating camp with the heart of service. We are going “Back to the Grove” this weekend to connect to our past and dream about the future ! 🌲❤️🌲

This Stream-ing Sunday comes at the end of a weekend with some of our youngest campers! They hiked the property, explored the sacredness of creation, and continued laying the foundation for strong community as they grow up in their home in the redwoods. How wonderful to be responsible to our littles and their future!

Yesterday we welcomed our friends from Tzim Tzum Community for the celebration of Yom Kippur…a day of deep reflection, prayer, and connection. And throughout the day, we were blessed with the sound of ethereal community song coming from the Grove. 🌲❤️🌲

This past weekend, we were so glad to welcome our Sierra Pacific Mission Center family of faith for Women’s Retreat, for a weekend of spiritual renewal. They explored what it means to hold space for the balance between cultivating what fulfills and nourishes and releasing that which no longer serves. It was such a lovely weekend of building community and creating and supporting spiritual practice. What a good way to welcome Autumn! 🍂🍁🌲
We also bid a very bittersweet farewell to Nemo, who has been an integral part of our team since he was a summer intern here in 2024. Nemo goes on to a great new job in Joshua Tree, and we wish him all the best, with our gratitude for his work and his wonderful presence during the last three years.

A very autumnal Stream-ing Sunday at the end of a weekend with beloved community from Sierra Pacific Mission Center…. what a lovely weekend for a women’s retreat focused on reflection and support for everything that is poured into the “Cup of our Lives.” ❤️☕️🫖🌲
