VSA exists to give purpose to veterans, first responders, and the community we live in. Thanks for the great art piece Onef Jef.

The surf gives you a mission. Learning about the tides, winds, bathymetry and surf habits of other humans in 1 surf break can take a lifetime. We believe in mentoring new learners the right way to enter the water safely and give them the skills to seek new meaning. Through this we can find purpose to live and surf another day.

For centuries, Watchfires have been lit as a symbol of guidance, remembrance, and hope. On September 11th, 2026 we gather to honor POW & MIA service members, remember those who have not made it home, and support Veterans who may still be finding their way back into the light.

We’re looking forward to seeing everyone out in the water, sharing waves, good vibes, and great company. The Learn to Surf program is officially full for this month—thank you to everyone who signed up!

If you’re a VSA member, you’re still encouraged to come out and join us for a surf session. Whether you’re catching your first wave of the day or just enjoying time with the community, we’d love to see you there.

10th Planet Sacramento (Jiu Jitsu) is hosting a massive Roll-A-Thon on June 13th benefiting the Veteran Surf Alliance.
