Colonial Flag Foundation was organized in 2003 shortly after the first Healing Field® display was orchestrated by Paul Swenson, president of Colonial Flag in Sandy, Utah. That first event was organized as a way to visualize the sheer enormity of human loss that occurred in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. But, as hundreds of volunteers gathered to help, it soon became evident that some

thing much more was emerging. It became a personal gesture of support, a tangible expression of mourning, and a very real healing experience. Colonial Flag Foundation provides the resources and support to help you gain exposure and raise funds for your cause. By associating with our nationally-recognized, respected brand, and following our program, you will enjoy a successful event, reach your goals and make a positive impact in your community.

Did You Know? (Donald Trump Edition)

Donald Trump, the 45th President of the United States, was born on June 14, 1946, in the borough of Queens, New York City. He was born into a wealthy family, with his father, Fred Trump, being a successful real estate developer.

From an early age, Trump was exposed to the world of business and entrepreneurship through his father’s ventures. His father’s influence, coupled with the prosperous environment he grew up in, played a significant role in shaping his future path.

Trump attended the Kew-Forest School in Queens until the age of 13 when he was then sent to the New York Military Academy. There, he developed discipline, leadership skills, and an interest in structure, which would later manifest in his approach to business and politics.

After finishing high school, Trump enrolled at Fordham University before transferring to the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He graduated in 1968 with a degree in economics.

When the founders completed the Constitution in 1787, they needed nine states to approve it before it would become law. Antifederalists, who opposed the Constitution, worried that a strong central government would threaten the rights of the people. To win over important states like New York and Virginia, Federalists—supporters of the new Constitution—pledged to include a Bill of Rights that would protect individual liberties and restrict government power. Congress suggested twelve amendments, but only ten were ultimately adopted by the states. On July 20th, 1969, astronauts Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin made history as the first humans to set foot on the lunar surface. They carried a 3'x5' nylon U.S. flag designed specifically for the their expedition to the Moon. Due to the lack of natural wind in space, NASA engineered a telescoping horizonal rod to hold the flag open, creating the iconic rippled "waving" look seen in many of the photos taken of the event.

The flag wasn't placed as a territorial claim. In accordance with Outer Space Treaty, it stood as a symbol of human achievement, representing what humanity can accomplish through innovation and exploration

While the original Apollo 11 flag likely fell over during the lunar module's liftoff and has since been bleached white by intense solar radiation, later missions' flagpoles are still believed to be standing on the Moon today. 🌑
