The RIOT BRIGADE was founded by a group of friends and families in 2011. This group of RSL supporters gathers regularly at home matches, tailgates, watch parties, team practices, away matches and other events to follow and support the Real Salt Lake soccer club. Over time the RIOT BRIGADE has added other members who share camaraderie with the group, as well as a love and support for RSL. At the en
d of the 2013 MLS season, the RIOT BRIGADE was approved as an official supporters group by the Front Office of the Real Salt Lake soccer club. The RIOT BRIGADE will be an open and inclusive supporters group that welcomes growth by the addition of new members to help encourage a larger fan and season ticket holder base for the team. We seek to be a home for new season ticket holders in the south goal seating area. In the spirit of inclusiveness, members of the RIOT BRIGADE will not discriminate against any potential new member, nor tolerate stadium activity, cheers or chanting that might disparage or insult any fan, player, or official on the basis of race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, or religious belief. The RIOT BRIGADE will uphold provisions of the MLS Code of Conduct. The RIOT BRIGADE seeks the unification of supporters groups into a single voice within the Rio Tinto Stadium. As such we will collaborate, communicate and coordinate with other supporters groups to achieve the goal of a stadium and match atmosphere that is loud, enthusiastic and impacting. We will work with other groups in the south goal (and across the stadium) to unify stadium chanting, through coordinated shared capo responsibilities, a second capo stand between sections 10 and 11, and a centralized drum corps that can provide a rhythmic lead to the chanting. We will attend host regular meetings of the groups to achieve this end. The RIOT BRIGADE will provide signal cards, and share the responsibilities of crowd organization with other groups that share our desire for a single soccer voice. The RIOT BRIGADE will adopt a series of chants and songs that are easy for new members and fans to learn. We will work with the Front Office and other supporters groups across the stadium to determine the lineup of these chants and songs that are commonly appreciated. These chants and songs will be printed and distributed to fans in the south goal and around the stadium so they can participate more intensely in match atmosphere. The RIOT BRIGADE welcomes new fans and visiting supporters groups to our tailgates and pre-match festivities in the supporters tailgate lot northwest of the RioTinto Stadium. We will host and welcome any visitor to our tailgates, whether from the local area or from a visiting MLS city. The RIOT BRIGADE will work with the Front Office and visiting supporters groups to provide a pre-match atmosphere that is respectful, fun, and without incident. The welcome of visiting groups to the RioT can include any MLS supporters group that agrees to the spirit of this collaborative pre-match welcome (Rapids, Galaxy, Timbers, Sounders, Earthquakes,Whitecaps, etc…). For visiting opposing fans however, once inside the stadium and the match begins . . . the welcome will cease . . . and the battle will ensue. The RIOT BRIGADE will recruit new members through the example we set with respect to our activities and support of RSL. Tailgate and watch party consumables (food and drink) will be self-supporting and through donations. Scarves, shirts, patches, and other supporter materials with RIOT BRIGADE insignia will be ordered periodically and offered on a for-sale-basis at pre-game
tailgates to assist in group fundraising. RIOT BRIGADE members need not be season ticket holders nor have seats in Section 10, 11 or the South Goal. All of the above. Let's fu**in RioT
