We asked our team why they are running alongside Common Thread on October 31st and every answer reminded us why this work matters so much. These teenagers deserve a community that shows up for them and that is exactly what this run is about.

BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND:

In partnership with Common Ground Collective, we’re offering a unique opportunity for teens to connect with horses and nature through our Equine Therapy program, guided by licensed professionals on a gorgeous piece of property. Throughout the program, Common Thread mentors will be present to support each teen’s individual needs.

Rather than having one larger group, for this program, we’re going to divide the session into two smaller three-week programs. This will allow us to keep the groups small and give each teen more individualized, one-on-one time with the horses and the Equine Therapist.

Group 1: September 19, October 3, and October 10
Group 2 : October 17, October 31, and November 7

Yesterday was really special and inspiring. Together with Eliza Hitz, we hosted teens and guardians/caregivers for a day of equine-assisted therapy and healing. We are so inspired by the level of vulnerability and openness, both, parents and teens displayed to explore ways to communicate with one another about their experiences, explore tools and language for repair, and deepen connection within their parent-child relationships. Horses are such a sacred conduit for healing.

We plan to offer more free sessions this upcoming year for families to feel seen, heard, and supported in their realities and relationships.

Shoutout to our partners at π•πˆπ π‹πˆπŒπŽπ”π’πˆππ„ for transportation support and Great Harvest Taylorsville for our go-to catered lunches.
