Every Surfers Healing camp starts with a simple belief: families should be able to experience this day without worrying about the cost.

Our camps are free to the families we serve, and that’s only possible because of the incredible people who choose to support this community. Our donors, partners, volunteers, surfers, and friends who have believed in what we do year after year.

On International Day of Charity, we’re grateful for every person who has helped us keep these days free and keep Surfers Healing growing.

Every One Perfect Day has a community of deep support behind it. 💙 Thank you all.

Sometimes you change the plan.

Isaiah had been having a tough few months, and when it came time to head East, Izzy wasn’t feeling good about putting him on a plane. So he dropped the plan, loaded up the new van, and decided they’d take the long way instead.

California to the East Coast. Father and son. One long roadie.

Isaiah was happy, had an amazing attitude, and was simply enjoying the ride. New places, long drives, unexpected stops, and a whole lot of time together.

They were joined by cousin Seth McElroy, Miss Jennifer Tracy and Isaiah’s bestie Juan, and picked up another one of Isaiah’s besties, Skippy Slater, along the way. It became a journey surrounded by some of the people who know and love Isaiah best.

We wanted to share this journey with our Surfers Healing community because we know there are families out there navigating hard days, changing plans and figuring things out as they go. We hope following Izzy and Isaiah’s epic journey was a reminder that you are not alone.

Here’s a little recap of the miles, the memories and the people who made this trip so special.

Folly Beach, thank you for welcoming us with open arms and helping us create another One Perfect Day for so many incredible families.

To our generous sponsors, our amazing Folly beach chapter Surfers Healing Folly, the amazing volunteers, and the families who give all of this so much meaning; thank you. Every year, our Surfers Healing family continues to grow, and it’s truly beautiful to see the love and sense of community that surround these days.

We talk a lot about the kids on the boards. But some of our favorite moments also happen on the sand.

Parents spend so much time hearing about what their kids can't do. Then they watch their child stand up on a wave, and the whole world is about what they CAN do.

Phones out to catch every second. A thumbs up from under the umbrella. Whole families at the water's edge, eyes on one surfer. This is the other half of One Perfect Day.
