❤️ BORYS IS SAFE! FROM THE EUTHANASIA LIST TO A NEW LIFE 🐾
Yesterday was the beginning of a completely new chapter for Borys.
Just a short time ago, this sweet boy was facing euthanasia. Yesterday, we were able to rescue him and walk him out of the shelter alive, just because a last minute foster stepped up!.
And what a wonderful dog he is. ❤️
Borys is a kisser, affectionate and loving, with such nice manners. While we waited at the shelter for all of his rescue paperwork to be completed, he was patient and well behaved, simply hanging out with us as if he somehow knew that something good was finally happening.
We made this little video to capture the moment and the beginning of his new life.
No more euthanasia list.
No more waiting behind shelter walls.
Borys is off to a new life filled with adventures, love, walks, kisses, new experiences—and people who will make sure he knows how much his life matters. 🐕❤️
This is why we rescue. Behind every shelter number and every euthanasia deadline is an individual animal with a personality, a story, and an entire life still waiting to be lived.
Yesterday, Borys got his tomorrow.

🚨 URGENT FOSTER NEEDED TODAY FOR BORYS 🚨
We met Borys yesterday at the shelter, and it is difficult to understand how such a delightful, loving dog could be facing a deadline TODAY.
Borys is a beautiful medium-sized Shepherd mix with the sweetest personality. He greeted us with affection, gave us kisses, and just wanted to be close to people. ❤️
And this smart boy already knows “sit” and “give paw”! 🐾 He was also great on leash when we spent time with him.
Borys isn't asking for much. He just needs someone to give him a safe place to land.
His deadline is TODAY. We urgently need a foster home.
A foster could literally be the difference between Borys having a future and running out of time.
We met him. We hugged him. We received all those sweet Borys kisses. Now we desperately want to make sure yesterday wasn't the last time he gets to give them.

❤️ CUSPID IS SAFE — AND LOOK WHO HE REALLY IS.
Yesterday, Cuspid was facing euthanasia.
At the very last minute, we were able to get him out of the shelter and into a foster home.
And what happened next is exactly why frightened shelter dogs deserve a chance.
At the shelter, Cuspid was a scared little pup who had already endured a very difficult month. He had been found abandoned and then spent more than a month in the shelter environment.
But once he realized he was safe?
His tail would not stop wagging.
Within about 20 minutes, Cuspid was playing with toys, exploring his foster home, seeking comfort from people, and showing us a curious, playful little dog who had been hiding underneath all that fear.
❤️ This is Cuspid outside the shelter.
There had also been concerns that he may be experiencing pain related to his joints or possibly past trauma. We haven't noticed obvious signs so far because he has been so excited and happy, but once he has had time to decompress and settle in, he will receive a veterinary evaluation and any follow-up care he needs.
This is also why networking shelter animals matters so much.
Animals who shut down or become frightened in loud, overcrowded shelter environments may never get the opportunity to show people who they really are. Without volunteers taking photos, sharing videos, posting urgent pleas, and advocates networking them, some of these animals can remain virtually invisible until it is too late.
Cuspid almost became one of them. Instead, today he is safe.
To every person who shared his post, networked him, prayed for him, and helped his plea reach rescue—THANK YOU.
A special thank you to the shelter volunteers who keep sharing these animals. Because you share them, rescues learn about dogs like Cuspid before time runs out.
And an enormous thank you to the last-minute fosters who say YES with almost no notice. Rescue organizations simply cannot save animals without foster homes. Sometimes one person opening their home is literally the difference between life and death.
🐾 And Cuspid says HI to everyone who prayed he would survive.
He made it.
Now he gets to decompress, receive veterinary care, play with toys, wag that little tail—and finally have the opportunity to show everyone who Cuspid really is.

Gordon Needs a Foster or Forever Home 🏡❤️

Meet Gordon — a 3-year-old, 75-pound sweetheart who appears to be a Cattle Dog/Lab mix, although his exact breed is anyone’s guess.

Gordon recently lost his foster home, and we are urgently looking for another foster where he can feel safe, comfortable, and loved while we continue searching for his forever family.

Gordon is a beautiful, gentle, affectionate boy with a playful side that comes alive the moment he sees a ball. He absolutely loves fetch and would probably chase a ball all day if he found a human willing to make throwing it a full-time job.

He also really enjoys the company of other dogs. He has lived peacefully with three small dogs and seems to have a special fondness for Chihuahuas.

At home, Gordon is wonderfully easy to live with. He is fully potty trained and has never had an accident in the house. He is crate trained, does well when left alone, knows “sit,” and responds very well to his name. He also rides beautifully in the car and makes a great travel companion.

Gordon loves chasing squirrels and is curious about other animals. The first time we saw a cat together, he seemed genuinely surprised and wasn’t quite sure what to make of it. He also recently met cows for the first time. They made him a little nervous, but he handled the experience calmly and cautiously.

His gentle side is one of the sweetest things about him. Gordon gives the softest, most delicate kisses and truly enjoys affection once he feels comfortable with you.

Gordon is smart, loving, funny, athletic, and loyal. He doesn’t need perfection — he needs someone willing to give him a little patience, a few treats, a ball to chase, and a safe place to land.

UPDATE: We rescued this boy!! He is safe relaxing at foster home❤️
Urgent plea, we are looking for a foster, to save little Cuspid.

Cuspid urgently needs help. He only has until 5 p.m today. He is a small dog who was found as a stray on the streets of Milpitas. He arrived at the shelter in San Jose on August 23, 2026, scared and confused, very thin, and with hair loss over more than half his body from untreated flea dermatitis.
Since arriving, Cuspid has been under evaluation for conflicting behaviors. He is housed in a community room with other small dogs, which can be a stressful environment for any dog, especially a scared small pup, who may not feel well, due to skin issues.. He has also spent time in quarantine, limiting opportunities for positive interactions and quiet decompression. The volunteer wrote: “ Staff recently allowed volunteers to begin working with him, and I’ve had a little time to get to know him.
Cuspid seeks comfort in my lap, allows slow petting, and shows some mild interest in play. He seems young and may simply never have learned how to feel confident around people. He can also show concerning behaviors, including resource guarding and snapping when he feels scared or uncomfortable. He needs time to build trust, along with the space and quiet he needs to decompress.
I truly believe Cuspid hasn’t had a fair chance in life. I hope someone will see his potential and offer the care, patience, and compassion he has lacked so far.”

You may notice the scar on Smokey's face. We don't know exactly how he got it. He came to us from an overcrowded shelter where he was at risk of euthanasia, and his past before that is unknown. The scar may have resulted from a previous injury or mistreatment, but we simply don't know. What we do know is that it has never defined him. It doesn't slow him down, affect his joyful personality, or diminish his incredible ability to trust and love people. If anything, it reminds us how resilient dogs can be.

Saving a dog from a shelter is only the beginning—the happiest part of the journey is watching them become a cherished member of a family.
After nearly two years of waiting, Smokey deserves that happy ending. He deserves a soft bed, a family who loves him, and someone to share all of life's adventures with.

🐾 ADOPTION NEEDED — Sweet Young Pit Bull/Husky Mix in San Jose

Meet this beautiful young girl Pinky! She was found in San Jose as a puppy and is believed to be under 1 year old, possibly a Pit Bull/Husky mix. She is about 45 lbs and is looking for a permanent family, ideally by October.

She is a funny, affectionate, smart young dog who loves people and other dogs. She becomes very attached to her people and loves being close to them. She is playful, social, and picks up on training quickly.

She is already potty trained and crate trained and is doing well on leash, although she could use some continued practice. Her current caregiver has been working with her and says she learns very well.

Most importantly, she is a sweet, people-loving, dog-loving young girl who deserves a permanent family of her own. Her caregiver admits they have been dragging their feet about posting her because she has been so easy and enjoyable to have around!

She is currently waiting for her vaccines and spay to be completed, but we would love to start looking for her future family now.

🏡 MAYA NEEDS A LOVING HOME

Meet Maya, a gentle and petite 6-year-old girl weighing about 35 pounds. Maya was originally rescued in Ukraine with an injured paw. After treatment, healing, and lots of love, she has grown into an incredibly sweet and devoted companion.

Maya is:

🐾 Potty trained and crate trained
🐾 Calm, quiet, and rarely barks
🐾 Non-reactive and easy to walk
🐾 Comfortable riding in the car
🐾 Gentle with people, dogs, and cats
🐾 Familiar with basic commands
🐾 A loyal companion who loves being near her person

Maya enjoys long neighborhood walks, chin scratches, chicken treats, relaxing on her bed, and quietly spending time beside the people she trusts. She is not very interested in toys or fetch, but she loves playing and socializing with other dogs.

Maya previously lived peacefully with a small senior dachshund and has made several dog friends in her neighborhood. She would ideally have a friendly, confident canine companion to help her feel secure and continue building confidence.

She would do best in an adult-only home, although a home with calm, respectful older children may also be considered. Her ideal family will be patient, gentle, and willing to let her settle in and build trust at her own pace.

Royal got a second chance. ❤️

Yesterday was supposed to be Royal's last day.

This beautiful Husky found himself on the euthanasia list at an overcrowded shelter—not because he had done anything wrong, but simply because there wasn't enough space.

Royal is everything you'd hope for in a companion: talkative, affectionate, full of personality, and eager to be part of a family. His life was almost cut short due to circumstances completely beyond his control.

Thankfully, we were able to step in.

Today, Royal is safe in a foster home, where he can finally decompress, feel loved, and begin the next chapter of his life. Instead of losing his life, he has been given the chance to live it.

Stories like Royal's remind us why rescue matters. Every day, incredible dogs face impossible situations through no fault of their own. When rescues, fosters, volunteers, and supporters work together, lives are saved.
