Our Mission:
Building our community by providing an equitable and secure path to higher education, emotional health and character development for young African American males. The Blue Heart Foundation is a 501(c)3 non profit organization focused on the empowerment and education of under served youth. Our program is based on nine (9) core competencies which fall under three categories: 1) Abilities, 2) Applications, and 3) Character. Leadership - Members continuously cultivate their
understanding of leadership and seek out opportunities to demonstrate their leadership skills.
2. Teamwork - Members work collaboratively and effectively with others to achieve a desired outcome.
3. Vision - Members are able to articulate a clear personal vision and demonstrate the ability to execute their role in the vision of leaders under which they serve. APPLICATIONS
4. Service - Members demonstrate commitment to serving their communities while understanding that service is the cornerstone of membership.
5. Learning - Members are committed to lifelong learning as a part of their growth and development with an emphasis on formal education.
6. Culture - Members act with a sense of urgency to understand diverse cultures and cultural trends with the express aim of positively impacting their surroundings. CHARACTER
7. Advocacy - Members are advocates for just causes in their schools and communities.
8. Equity - Members are committed to social, political, and educational equity for all people.
9. Ethics - Members model high standards of personal conduct at all times and in all places.

🏀🏈 BLUE HEART’S FIRST GAME DAY WAS A HIT! 💙🔥

Yesterday, our Young Blues traded the classroom for the court and the field for Blue Heart’s FIRST Game Day—and they had a BLAST!

What makes this one extra special? The idea came directly from our Youth Coaches! They wanted to create a day where the young men could simply get outside, compete, have fun and strengthen the brotherhood—and they made it happen. 🙌🏽

We kicked things off with some serious competition on the basketball court 🏀, moved over to the field for football 🏈, and of course took a break for plenty of pizza! 🍕 And YES…the friendly trash talk and competition were definitely in the air! 😂

We had a great group of Young Blues come out, along with parents who stopped by to support and cheer them on. By the end of the day, the verdict was unanimous:

“We have to do this again!” 😆

The coaches agreed—and plans are already brewing for more Game Days in the future!

This is what the Blue Heart Village is all about. Sometimes mentoring happens during a workshop. And sometimes it happens on a basketball court, on a football field, over a slice of pizza, or while laughing and competing with the men and young people who are becoming part of your village.

A BIG shoutout to our Youth Coaches for coming up with the idea, putting it together and giving our Young Blues another way to connect, build relationships and just enjoy being together. 💙

💙 A Room Full of Positive Male Energy, Leadership & Brotherhood!

This past Saturday, our Young Blues had another great HEART Leadership Academy workshop led by Dr. James Crawford!

We had some amazing men in the room, pouring into our young men, sharing their knowledge, experiences, and planting seeds that we know will grow well beyond the classroom.

We were excited to welcome a representative from San Diego Educational Cultural Complex (SDECC) to share information about the campus and the opportunities available to our youth.

We also had a special guest, Frank Davis Jr. (Coach Scout), join us to experience Blue Heart firsthand and explore the possibility of becoming a future Youth Coach!

And of course, our very own Lead Youth Coach Chris Ransom and Coach Rashad Autman were right there in the mix!

Now, that’s a whole lot of healthy testosterone, positive male influence, and brotherhood in one room! 💪🏾💙

There’s something powerful about young men being surrounded by men who genuinely care about their future, show up consistently, and lead by example.

It Takes a Village, and we’re grateful for every man who takes the time to be part of ours.

💙🧡 Our Young Blues are home! HBCU Tour 2026 is officially in the books! 🎓✈️

After several days on the road, our seniors and Youth Coaches have made it safely back to San Diego, and what an experience!

This year, we traveled with a small group, and it turned out to be something pretty special. With fewer students, the tour became a more personal experience for our Young Blues, giving them an opportunity to really take in each campus, ask questions, connect, and experience HBCU culture up close.

From New Orleans to Atlanta, including a visit to Morehouse College, our seniors had the opportunity to see firsthand what college life can look and feel like while experiencing the history, culture, tradition, and brotherhood that make HBCUs so special. 💙

And we have to give a HUGE thank you to Dr. James Crawford and Coach Rashad Autman for traveling with our young men, guiding them, looking out for them, and making sure they got the most out of this experience. When we talk about the importance of positive men showing up for young men, this is what that looks like. 🙌🏽

To our Young Blues: we hope you came home with new ideas, bigger possibilities, great memories, and maybe even a clearer picture of what comes next.
