πŸ’™ SOMETHING NEW IS GROWING AT BLUE HEART! πŸ’™

For years, part of our vision has been to see our Young Blues graduate, stay connected, and eventually come back to pour into the next generation.

And over the last year and a half, we’ve watched that vision come to life! Our alumni have returned to lead workshops, volunteer, share their experiences, and support their younger Blue Heart Brothers. πŸ’™

Now we’re asking a new question:

How can Blue Heart continue pouring into THEM?

We’re excited to announce that we are in the building stages of a NEW Blue Heart division:

πŸŽ“πŸ’Ό The Alumni & Young Professionals Development Group | Ages 17–25

This next phase will help young adults navigate life after high school through career and workforce development, professional mentorship, networking, financial education, employment opportunities, and more.

We’re building now with plans to launch in 2027–2028 β€” and we’re excited about what’s ahead!

Because graduating from high school doesn’t have to mean graduating from Blue Heart. πŸ’™

WE’RE HITTING THE ROAD AGAIN! πŸšŒπŸ’™πŸŽ“

We are SO excited to announce that our newest Blue Heart seniors are heading out on the 2026 HBCU Tour, October 7–10!

In just four days, our Young Blues will visit 8 HBCUs across the South, getting an up-close look at college life, HBCU culture, history, brotherhood, and all the possibilities waiting for them after high school.

This is one of our FAVORITE experiences to provide! πŸ’™ There is nothing like giving our young men the opportunity to step onto these campuses, see students who look like them thriving, and begin imagining themselves there too.

And they’ll be in great hands! Dr. James Crawford and Coach Rashad Autman will be hitting the road with our Young Blues and leading them through this experience.

A HUGE thank you to our supporters and donors! πŸ™ŒπŸ½ Every donation, grant, partnership, and person who believes in what we do helps Blue Heart continue creating opportunities like this for our young men.

8 HBCUs. 4 days. A whole lot of memories, exposure and possibilities ahead! πŸšŒπŸŽ“πŸ’™

October can’t get here fast enough! We can’t wait to take you along for the journey!

It was a PACKED HOUSE this hot Saturday morning at our Blue Heart New Family Orientation! πŸ’™

Our new families showed up, our Young Blues showed up, and the energy in the room was incredible.

One of the most exciting parts of this next chapter for Blue Heart is our male-centered mentoring model, with our Youth Coaches working together to lead, connect with, and pour into our young men.

Coach Chris shared afterward:

β€œI had plenty of the young men walk up to me and tell me, β€˜I’ll see you next Saturday.’ A lot of them looked eager to join.”

THAT is what we want to hear! πŸ’™

Huge shoutout to our amazing team:

πŸ‘πŸ½ Dr. James Crawford for leading portions of the presentation so eloquently and moving throughout the room connecting with families.

πŸ‘πŸ½ Coach Rashad Autman for stepping up with public speaking, photography, food coordination, and helping make sure the day ran smoothly.

πŸ‘πŸ½ Tammy Blevins for sharing about Blue Heart events and parent engagement and inviting our current parents to share their personal experiences with the program. Their testimonials were powerful!

And one of our favorite moments of the day? Watching our current Young Blues welcome, talk with, and connect with our new Young Blues. That brotherhood is exactly what we want to continue building.

Today felt powerful.

We know our Founder, Tracy R. Morris, would be incredibly proud to see the men of Blue Heart working together to continue pouring into the next generation.

Now the journey begins. πŸ’™

πŸŽ‰ We Got The Grant! πŸ’™

The Blue Heart Foundation has been awarded a Living Cultures Grant from the Alliance for California Traditional Arts for support of our newly revised Step & Cultural Arts Academy!

πŸ”₯What makes this especially meaningful is that Alliance for California Traditional Arts is the first funder to invest in this newly revised program, helping us strengthen a culturally grounded space where our young men can learn African American stepping, build performance skills, connect with cultural tradition, and carry that legacy forward.

We are incredibly grateful to the Alliance for California Traditional Arts for believing in this vision and supporting the next chapter of our Step & Cultural Arts Academy. πŸ’™

We’re excited for what’s ahead!

πŸ’™ THIS is what building Blue Heart looks like.

I have to take a moment to recognize our amazing Blue Heart Youth Coaches β€” Coach Chris, Coach Rashad, and Dr. Crawford.

πŸ”₯These three came together on their own time, outside of Blue Heart, to talk, brainstorm, share ideas, and think about how we can continue making the Blue Heart experience even better for our Young Blues.

No one asked them to do it. They simply care. πŸ’™

And THAT is what makes me so proud.

We’re not just running a youth program. We’re building something, and it takes men who are willing to bring their ideas, leadership, creativity, time, and genuine investment in our young men to the table.

This is exactly the kind of Youth Coach team I’ve envisioned for this next chapter of Blue Heart: men working together, taking ownership, building relationships, and helping shape where we go next.

Our Young Blues have some incredible men in their corner.

Coach Chris. Coach Rashad. Dr. Crawford. Thank you for showing up and helping us BUILD. πŸ’™πŸ§‘

πŸ’™ Another Powerful Mentor Connection Saturday! πŸ‘‘

This past Saturday was filled with meaningful conversations and personal growth for our Young Blues.

Coach Chris led an impactful roundtable discussion as part of our Mentor Connection series, guiding our young men through important topics like emotions, anger, and self-control.

These honest conversations give our students the tools to better understand themselves, make healthy decisions, and grow into strong, emotionally intelligent leaders.

A special thank you to Jonas Royster for joining us and sharing his powerful personal journey. Your transparency, wisdom, and message of resilience reminded our Young Blues that their past does not define their future and that they have the power to write their own story.

Thank you, Jonas, for investing your time and heart into the next generation. We appreciate you! πŸ’™
