This Día de los Mu***os, MANA de San Diego honors three remarkable Latinas whose courage, determination and commitment to their communities helped shape the San Diego we know today.

Laura Rodríguez fought for her community. Luisa Moreno championed workers’ rights. Yolanda López challenged stereotypes and redefined how Mexican women were represented.

Three women. Three powerful legacies. Countless lives touched.

As MANA celebrates 40 years of advancing Latina leadership and opportunity, we’re reminded that the progress we celebrate today was built on the courage of women who refused to accept things as they were.

💜 We honor them not only by remembering their names but by continuing their work.

Because when one Latina opens a door, generations can walk through it.

At MANA de San Diego, we honor her legacy through our commitment to ensuring Latinas have the opportunities, support, and power to shape their own futures and lead their communities. May we carry her example forward in how we organize, advocate, and lift one another up.
