Tomorrow, Thurs. Aug. 27, we are hosting a job fair with SAY San Diego from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Market Creek Plaza (310 Euclid Ave, Suite 501).

SAY San Diego (Social Advocates for Youth) is hiring for its Child and Youth Development Unit for Youth Leaders, Inclusion Assistants, Assistant Site Supervisors and Site Supervisors to support before- and after-school programs across San Diego.

What a night! National Night Out brought Southeastern San Diego together for an evening of food, music, dancing and community connection. We are grateful!

Thank you to the vendor and resource partners who showed up to support the neighborhood, and to Denise Martinez and the San Diego Police Department officers of the Southeastern Division for helping host such a great event. A special shoutout to our event co-chairs, Pastor Steve Marron of The Bridge Church, Anthony Avila of SDPI Security and Mercedes Almeida for your partnership.

School books and health checkups and backpacks, oh my! 📚🎒 Back-to-school season is here, and so is The Community Health & Resource Fair. Join us tomorrow, Wednesday, Aug. 5, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Jackie Robinson Family YMCA, 151 YMCA Way in San Diego to get the whole family ready for the school year.

This month's fair is all about back-to-school readiness, with free resources for the whole family: CPR training from Falck Mobile Health, blood pressure and cholesterol checks, breast exams, mammograms, HIV and Hep-C screening, eye exams and glasses, dental screening, medical consultations, behavioral health support, help enrolling in Medi-Cal and CalFresh, food distribution.

Free shuttles will run to and from Asia Wok on Marketplace Avenue and the Educational Cultural Complex on Ocean View Boulevard.

Tomorrow's the night! 🎉 National Night Out is Tuesday, Aug. 4, 4:30-7:30 p.m. at Festival Park at Market Creek Plaza (310 Euclid Ave., right next to Jacobs Center's office.)

Bring the whole family for free activities, meeting local first responders and police, and music from DJ Monterrosa. Southeast San Diego's own line dancing group, Errrverybodi Line Dancers, will also be out there getting everyone moving!

Don't forget to bring your own grocery bag! We'll have a community food pantry on-site.
