Have you heard about SIP?

The Storefront Improvement Program (SIP) revitalizes building facades visible to customers, neighboring merchants and residents. The City of San Diego provides free professional design assistance and financial incentives to small business owners who wish to make a creative change to and improve the curb appeal of their storefronts. In FY2021, the SIP completed 18 projects throughout the City and provided $148,500 in incentives, leveraging $235,400 in private funds.

SIP is open to small businesses (25 or fewer employees) that are located in the City of San Diego and have a valid business tax certificate. Applicants must be a commercial occupant of the subject property.

As the Vice-President of the San Diego County Imperial Valley Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (SDCIVHCC) and on behalf of the Board, we congratulate our President, Ricardo F Villa on this very well deserved recognition!

Through Ricardo's leadership the SDCIVHCC's website has been modernized, upgraded our CRM database, improved our social media presence and Networking programs. He has been instrumental in creating one of the most effective Community Outreach programs in the region which has led to delivering $1.6 million dollars to the City of San Diego COVID-19 Small Business Relief Grant Program. He has expanded the Cafecito & Networking program to include binational participation which is now considered as the most effective Cafecito group in the region.

Seeing the need of 180,00 residents in the Imperial Valley he incorporated the region into the now the San Diego County Imperial Valley Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.

Ricardo sits on the
California Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors for the Southern region. He is currently working on bringing the 2023 CHCC Annual Convention to San Diego. He has developed MOU and Partnership with COTUCO of Mexicali, CANACINTRA Tijuana, CANACO Tijuana, Foreign Affairs Office for the People's Government of China in the Jilin Province. SDCIVHCC has strengthened partnerships with SDSU, CSUSM, San Diego Wave, San Diego Gulls, San Diego Seals, Xolos de Tijuana Volaris, Mi Chante Foundation 2023 Golf Tournament benefiting athletic students in Tijuana, Feria del Datil - Mexico 1st Mexico International Date Palm Festival, Secretario General del Khalifa, Dr. Abdelouahhab Zaid and Secretario del Campo y Seguridad Alimentaria de Baja California, Arq. Juan Meléndez Espinoza, Secretary of Tourism Baja California Secretary of Economy & Innovation Baja California, Counsel General of San Diego Diego & Tecate, US Mexico Chamber of Commerce Mexico City, San Diego Padres, Asociaciones de Hoteles y Moteles de Mexico, ASEAN – Asociaciones de Naciones Sudeste Asiático.

The San Diego County Imperial Valley Hispanic Chamber of Commerce is honored to have Pastor Rolland E. Slade conduct the Invocation Prayer at our 2022 Iluminada Gala this coming Friday, September 23rd. Pasto Slade is a native San Diegan, originally raised in the Southeastern portion of the city. He is a past fellow of the California Wellness Foundation’s Violence Prevention Program, as well as a past recipient of Children’s Hospital of San Diego and the San Diego County Office of Education’s Champion for Children award.
