Our Media Makers are taking their skills to the next level — designing original artwork and turning their ideas into custom sublimated t-shirts! 🎨🔥

Many of these students have been growing with the program over time and are now building their portfolios, showcasing the creativity, confidence, and technical skills they’ve developed through their journey at Outside the Lens.

It’s amazing to see their ideas come to life — one design, one project, one story at a time. 💡💙

At Outside The Lens’ Media Makers Program we value learning from folks with experience in the field. 🎥 💫
We recently welcomed filmmaker An Tran who shared her process and work. 👏🏼👏🏼 👀✨ Tran is a graduate from the University of Southern California School of Cinematic Arts and also has experience as a journalist, covering entertainment technology and filmmaking for the past decade. Her articles and interviews have appeared in American Cinematographer, Filmmaker, Exposure, In Camera, Videography, LAist.com, and the Los Angeles Times. 📝

Welcoming guest speakers into the space gets the team into action with different participants taking the lead recording, interviewing, and engaging with our guest. 🤝 Experiences like this also invite Media Makers’ participants to consider different mediums to showcase their own story as well as different career path possibilities! 🌈
