Outdoor Outreach is a San Diego-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with a mission to connect youth to the transformative power of the outdoors. Since our founding in 1999, Outdoor Outreach has served more than 20,000 young people through four core youth development programs: our Partner, Adventure Club, Military and Leadership programs.

Thanks to the California State Coastal Conservancy Explore the Coast Grant Program, students from Lemon Grove Academy Middle School had the opportunity to explore San Diego's coastline in a whole new way. Last week, we hosted our first Meet the Mission event, where many who make up the Outdoor Outreach community came together to connect with some of the incredible people who make our work possible. We were so grateful to have program alumni, partners, donors, volunteers, staff, and friends all in the same place.

The highlight of the night was hearing from Alexis, Thao, and Tiffany, who shared their experiences with the organization and what Outdoor Outreach means to them today.

Thank you to Pure Project Brewing for being amazing hosts, and to everyone who joined us, shared a conversation, listened to a story, or simply showed up to be part of the community. Another community access project through the to improve youth access to natural and cultural resources! 🤙

Outdoor Outreach's Youth Community Access grant provides young people in San Diego with critically important access to natural and cultural resources by supporting our Leadership Program.

This month, we celebrated the graduation of 12 young outdoor leaders, who completed 300+ hours of of activities, including team building, leadership development courses, group facilitation, environmental stewardship, and will learn skills in outdoor activities like kayaking, surfing, hiking, and more.
