Happy Flag Day and Happy Birthday, U.S. Army! 🇺🇸

We are proud to celebrate two enduring symbols of our nation's strength and freedom today, the American flag and the United States Army.

On June 14, 1775, the U.S. Army was established, becoming the first branch of our military and standing as a steadfast defender of our nation for 251 years. One year later, on June 14, 1777, the Continental Congress adopted the Stars and Stripes as the official flag of the United States.

As we honor Old Glory, we also salute the Soldiers, past and present, who have served under its colors with courage, sacrifice, and unwavering dedication. Thank you! 🇺🇸

Thank you The Home Depot Foundation and 365 Connect! Today we completed our 4th of 6 scheduled projects for 2026! Ashley and her team from the Lemon Grove HD Store, quickly swapped out locks for our resident cottages at Freedom Station II. The entire crew, on their day off, once again went above and beyond!

Helping Our Navy Dress for Success! ⚓️

We proudly partnered with Macy's for another outstanding Dress for Success event supporting Navy Wounded Warrior participants. This special day provided 50 service members, including 27 women and 23 men, with professional attire to help them build confidence and prepare for career opportunities as they transition into the next chapter of their lives.

These events are only possible because of the incredible support and generosity of our partners. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Jennifer Stein, VP of Store Development and Regional Merchandise Planning for Calvin Klein, Anne Klein, Kenneth Cole, Jones New York, and Kasper; Ivette Dallatorre; Carlos Nanez; John Silang, Retail Development Coordinator for G-III brands including Donna Karan, DKNY, BCBG, Nautica, and Karl Lagerfeld; Valentin Pingarron, Tailored Clothing Coordinator; Claudia Quintero, Account Executive for Calvin Klein; and Genevieve, whose support was instrumental in making this event a success.

Your dedication, expertise, and commitment to serving our ill and injured Sailors helped create an uplifting and empowering experience for every participant.

We are proud to sponsor Josue Barron as he represented the United States on the world stage at the ParaCycling World Cup in Pescara, Italy 🇮🇹

Josue finished 4th overall in the H5 Division, competing against some of the best athletes in the world. His dedication, perseverance, and competitive spirit continue to inspire us all.

A special thank you to our own Adaptive Sports Athletic Director, Junior Rodriguez, for supporting Josue throughout the competition by preparing healthy meals, coordinating travel arrangements, managing equipment, and providing endless encouragement every step of the way.

Remembering D-Day 🇺🇸

On June 6, 1944, the world witnessed the largest military invasion in history, D-Day. The invasion of Normandy marked a pivotal turning point in World War II, with over 160,000 Allied troops storming the beaches to liberate Europe from tyranny.

Today, we honor the courage, resilience, and legacy of every Warrior who fought for freedom on that historic day. Your bravery will never be forgotten. ❤️ 💙

From Service to Success, One Suit at a Time!

The transition from military service to civilian life is filled with challenges, uncertainty, and new opportunities. Through our "Dress for Success" Program, we help service members and veterans step confidently into their next chapter by providing professional attire, career resources, and the support they need to succeed.

For many Warriors, this program is more than a suit. It's a reminder that they are not alone.

Home Depot and 365 Connect do it again!

We are thrilled to welcome Home Depot and 365 Connect back to Freedom Station 3 to finish what they originally started, and the results are incredible!

This time, their team built an amazing portable gazebo designed to provide shade, encourage group gatherings, and create opportunities for camaraderie and togetherness among our Warrior residents. The beautiful red, white, and blue Adirondack chairs they built during their previous volunteer project now fit perfectly beneath this sturdy new structure.

In addition, the team constructed a white portico over our existing gas fire pit that perfectly matches the one over our BBQ area. Not only will it provide much-needed shade from the sun, but it also creates another intimate gathering space where lasting friendships can be formed.

These improvements are more than just functional additions to our community. They are meaningful reminders of the warm, welcoming environment we strive to create for the Warriors who call Freedom Station home.

Projects like these would not be possible without the strong collaboration and partnership between Home Depot, 365 Connect, and our foundation. A special thank you to Christian Solis and CEO Teresa Miller from 365 Connect, along with Grecia Whited from Home Depot, for your leadership, generosity, and dedication.

Monthly BBQs: Gathering Around Good Food and Great People!

There's something special about our monthly BBQs. They bring together residents, volunteers, board of directors, friends, and supporters for an afternoon of connection, encouragement, and great food. This month's gathering was no exception, with plenty of laughter, meaningful conversations, special guests, and a delicious tri-tip meal with all the fixings!

We were grateful to have Michael Morabe, a CRU military missionary, join us to open the lunch in prayer. Michael is currently leading worship classes for active-duty service members and is passionate about helping recruits grow in their faith and spiritual journey.

Lori Andersen and Tami Toms from Guide Dogs of America and Tender Loving Canines also spent time with us, introducing everyone to Orbit, a lovable and highly trained service dog. Orbit quickly won over our Warriors with her hugs, fist bumps, and comforting lap lays that feel much like a weighted blanket. Beyond their companionship, service dogs like Orbit provide invaluable support by helping reduce stress and anxiety symptoms.

We were also fortunate to have longtime Warrior Foundation volunteer David Deiranieh with us. David generously shared his time and expertise, offering mentorship, resume guidance, and career development support to help our Warriors prepare for the next chapter of their lives.

One of the highlights of the day was celebrating resident Jaiden's birthday alongside his mom and sister. We also had the pleasure of recognizing resident Angelisa Davila on her graduation from our housing program, a wonderful accomplishment that we were excited to celebrate together.

As the lunch came to a close, we were reminded how fortunate we are to be surrounded by such caring and dedicated people. These monthly BBQs create opportunities to connect, celebrate, and support one another, leaving us with plenty to be thankful for.

Last night, we had the honor of attending the premiere and special screening of Pressure alongside an incredible group of Warriors!

We were proud to bring our residents together along with 20 active-duty Marines from Wounded Warrior Battalion-West for an unforgettable evening of connection, reflection, and inspiration. Who doesn’t need a night at the movies every once in a while?

We are grateful to share experiences like this with the men and women who continue to serve and sacrifice for our country. Can’t wait for the next one!
