💜 Puppy Parents Needed! 💜
Every Assistance Dog starts out as a puppy in a volunteer's home.
Paws for Purple Hearts is currently looking for Puppy Parents to help raise future Assistance Dogs for Veterans and Active-Duty Service Members in the San Diego area!
As a Puppy Parent, you'll help a puppy learn basic manners, build confidence, and experience the world around them - all while receiving support from our training team. Weekly classes are led by our very own trainer, Nicki, and Puppy Parents have access to ongoing guidance throughout the program.
One of the best parts of being a Puppy Parent is joining us for monthly group outings. There are plenty of local attractions and community events that help puppies gain valuable exposure while giving Puppy Parents a fun and rewarding experience along the way!
To become a Puppy Parent, you must be able to:
🐾 Raise a puppy in your home from approximately 8 weeks to 2 years of age
🐾 Attend at least one training class each week
🐾 Follow our training methods and household guidelines
🐾 Provide daily structure, consistency, and reinforcement at home
🐾 Be at least 18 years old
