☀️ It’s sweet summertime with Project LIGHT!

Each week this summer, we’ll be sharing free and low-cost family activities that help create connection, build memories, and keep children safe.

We also want to help families, churches, businesses, and community groups learn more about protecting children from exploitation and online dangers.

If your organization would like training, resources, or a conversation about child safety, we would love to connect with you.

Together, we can create safer communities for children.

Predators don’t need access to your child’s school.
They just need access to their phone.

Summer break often means:

More gaming
More social media
More private messaging
More unsupervised time online

History was unveiled in Rowan County today. 🇺🇸

Project LIGHT was honored to attend the Charters of Freedom Dedication Ceremony at the Rowan Community Center, where full-sized replicas of the Declaration of Independence, U.S. Constitution, Bill of Rights, and Civil Rights Amendments are now permanently installed for public viewing.

It was a powerful reminder that freedom, dignity, justice, and protection are more than words on historic documents — they are values we are called to live out in our community today.

As Rowan County takes part in the America 250 celebration, this permanent installation will give our community a place to learn from these historic documents and reflect on the freedoms and responsibilities they represent.

We’re grateful for moments like this that bring our community together and remind us of what is worth protecting. 💙🇺🇸

💬 It’s Teen Talk Tuesday with Project LIGHT!

One question we hear often is:
“How can I take a healthy break from social media?”

Taking a step back from screens doesn’t have to mean disconnecting from everyone — it can simply mean reconnecting with yourself, your friends, and the world around you. 💙

Here are 3 healthy ways teens can take a social media break:

📱 1. Set “No Scroll” Times
Try putting your phone away during meals, before bed, or for one hour each day.

🎨 2. Replace Screen Time with Something You Enjoy
Listen to music, go outside, draw, play sports, journal, or spend time with people who make you feel supported.

🧠 3. Pay Attention to How Social Media Makes You Feel
If certain accounts leave you feeling stressed, anxious, or “not enough,” it may be time to unfollow, mute, or take a break.

Your mental health matters. Your peace matters. And you are more than your notifications. ✨

Most people know human trafficking exists.

Far fewer people realize how much exploitation now begins online… through gaming platforms, social media, private messaging apps, and manipulation happening behind a screen.

In this final conversation with Weston Parks, founder of The Value Of One, we talk about:
⚠️ Organ trafficking
⚠️ Online exploitation networks
⚠️ How vulnerable young people are being targeted and groomed
⚠️ Why prevention and awareness matter more than ever

But this episode is also about hope.

We highlight the work of Little Starfish Mission in Costa Rica, where survivors are finding safety, healing, and long-term support.

These conversations may be hard to hear. They’re even harder to live through.
