Members!

Here is our official yard sale update.

Sorting Update

Sorting items has begun. In the meeting room you will find tables with categories. Items on the long line of tables by the door and in the kitchen have not yet been sorted. We will do a big push for setting up on Thursday and Friday, after our meeting. Please keep the few tables empty that have been marked so we have some room to host the meeting.

We will pull up the chairs as well to make it easier to maneuver around the tables and so we can place larger items under tables as well.

Feel free to jump into the meeting room whenever you are there this week and help sort. We just want to break up the categories for now. We will do more specific sorting and organizing after the meeting.

Some items also need a little love. A wet rag or a little bit of soap and water will go along way.

Please keep all packing materials and boxes. There is a pile started and we will use those to send people home with items as well as packing any remaining items up at the end.

We will have some basic pricing signs, some stickers and tags for larger items. I will also have some Not for sale tags.

Day of Food

Great news - if you are planning to attend the yard sale and help, we have got a great set up for food for the day.

Our passionate house committee chair, Mike Small has graciously planned to bring up 25 breakfast biscuits for $3 each.

In addition, our lovely neighbors at the Rockwell post are hosting their Whole Hog Picking on that same day and will be delivering us plates! They will have BBQ, Slaw, baked beans and banana pudding. Plates will be 12.50 each ( they are doing 2 for 25 or $14 each - I’ll pay the odd meal if we don’t have an even number). These will be delivered sometime between 11 ish but by noon depending on their volunteer availability.

Please let me know if you would like to order a BBQ plate, I would like to give them a head count on Thursday.

Our canteen will also be open starting at 9am for Bloody Mary’s and Mimosas - or anything else you may want.

Volunteer Count

I would love to get a head count of who is coming when. We will open the sale at 6 am so I will be there at 5am. Mike Small will be there at 4am.

We will need help directing people inside, talking to potential members, helping people take their finds to cars, keeping things organized, being around for questions on pricing and help packing all the leftovers.

Leftover Items

Leftover items will be packed up and the Kidney Foundation is set to come pick up any remaining items on Monday.

10/13/2025

Members! Please bring your yard sale items up this week! I will be setting up the sorting system for items tonight so if you are at the post this week, jump over to the meeting room and help us sort and organize our donations. We will make a big push after the meeting on Thursday and Friday.

China Grove Farmers Day is tomorrow. Thank you to all who have volunteers to be there! Please please please if you are available to come hang out at the booth and chat with people that would be so great! The more people we have at the booth the better we look!

There will be a basket of information and a binder will all the Auxiliary flyers and information.

We will have new member packets, Info cards, candy and other little goodies. The Challenge Coins are designed to be given to non veterans to encourage them to thank a veteran out in the community. We do only have 100 of these. Let’s try to spread these out throughout the day. We have lots of the information cards so please pass those out freely. Thank the veterans you see, ask people if they are members of a VFW and encourage people to come visit or join. There will be buddy poppies to pass out as well.
