How cool is this shark blanket that one of our campers picked out for her brother in our Birthday Shop? 🦈
It was there because of generous humans like you.
She carefully picked it out just for him, wrapped it, made him a special card, and then got to surprise him at our camp-wide birthday party. Watching siblings celebrate one another in these simple but meaningful ways is one of our favorite parts of Sibling Camp.
The Birthday Shop isn't really about the gifts. It's about giving siblings the chance to choose something with love, to give it with pride, and to create a memory together. It's about connection, belonging, and the joy of celebrating one another.
Our second session of Sibling Camp 2026 is coming up quickly, and our Birthday Shop needs your help! We've had a few special requests from campers, and we'd love your support in making those wishes come true and no community shows up for a birthday party like the Kindred Matters community!

One official sign that we've come up for air after June Sibling Camp...

We spent the week after camp doing what we needed most: reflecting, regrouping, celebrating an incredible weekend, and then tackling the inbox one email at a time.
If you've been waiting to hear back from us, thank you for your patience. Those three days with campers are always worth the overflowing inbox. 💚
We're (almost) caught up, but if you're still waiting to hear from us, don't be shy about reaching out again. Sometimes emails get lost in the post-camp shuffle, and we truly appreciate the reminder.
Now it's time to keep sharing all the joy, laughter, and connection from an unforgettable weekend. Be on the lookout for more fun moments from June Sibling Camp over the coming weeks!

As Pride Month draws to a close, we find ourselves celebrating and learning from the many voices, stories, and experiences that strengthen our community.
At Kindred Matters, we believe inclusion and belonging are not contained to a month on the calendar. They are things we are continually learning, practicing, and shaping in community.
We are grateful for the LGBTQIA2S+ youth, families, volunteers, staff, and supporters who help us understand what belonging truly means in action. Your stories, perspectives, and presence make our community stronger.
While June may be coming to an end, our commitment to creating spaces where people feel valued, respected, and able to show up as themselves continues throughout the year. As we head into a season filled with Sibling Camps, connection, and community, that commitment remains at the heart of everything we do.
Pride is more than a month. Belonging is more than a statement. It's something we continue to practice, nurture, and create together every day.
Because belonging doesn't end on June 30. 🌈💙💚

On Juneteenth, we find ourselves reflecting on the weight and meaning of this day.
Juneteenth marks the day freedom finally reached enslaved people in Texas, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation. It is a celebration of liberation, resilience, joy, and the generations of Black leaders and communities who have continued to push our country closer to its promises.
From the first Jubilee celebrations to Opal Lee's determined walk to make Juneteenth a national holiday, this history reminds us that progress has always been carried forward by people willing to keep showing up, keep speaking truth, and keep walking together.
At Kindred Matters, we believe connection, belonging, and dignity matter. We know that freedom is not only about rights on paper, but about creating communities where people are seen, valued, and able to thrive.
Today we honor the history, the struggle, and the joy of Juneteenth. We celebrate the enduring strength of Black communities and recommit ourselves to building spaces rooted in compassion, equity, and connection.
As Fannie Lou Hamer reminded us, "Nobody's free until everybody's free."
Happy Juneteenth. ❤️🖤💚

🌲💚 Our June Sibling Camp is officially FULL, and we can’t wait to welcome our campers June 26–28! We are counting down the days until a weekend filled with laughter, adventure, and the joy of siblings getting to be together.

✨ There’s still time to join us for our August session, August 10–14! Spots are still available, but they’re filling quickly, so be sure to submit your application soon.

🙌 We’re also welcoming volunteers for both sessions. If you’re looking for a meaningful way to spend a week creating connection and belonging, come help us make camp magic for siblings living separately.

Who: This activity is FREE for separated siblings and their families*.

That’s why we create spaces like Sibling Camp and KINnect, where joy, reconnection, and memory-making can flourish. 🌲🎨💙
