College dreams in the making! 🎓 Last Friday, our D.R.E.A.M Mentoring Program students headed to Western Oregon University for WOU’s Fall Preview Day!

First, a big shoutout to Urban Grange for starting our morning off right -thank you for your continuous support of our students! 🙌

Our youth got the full university experience:

• Explored campus clubs and resources
• Listened to an awesome student panel
• Got key tips on admissions and college funding
• Experienced campus dining with lunch at the cafeteria
• Toured the residence halls to see what college living is like!

For some of our students, this was their very first time visiting a university campus. Being able to see, feel, and walk through a college environment made the possibility of higher education feel real and achievable.

The future is bright, and this is just the beginning! Keep an eye out for more college and career exploration trips coming soon. 💙

>>>If you or your organization have connections or opportunities to share with our youth, please reach out! Exposing our students to new paths makes all the difference.

A huge shoutout to our incredible mentors and volunteers, especially Millyellan and Tysen -thank you for investing so much love and time into our students. They love you, and we love you! 💙✏️

Opening doors, one evening at a time 💙

Yesterday, our Program Coordinator Jenny and Youth Development Specialist Monique took 11 Salem Dream Center students to the College & Career Fair at McKay High School!

We kicked things off with dinner together at Nuestra Casa, because good conversations about the future start around a table.

Then it was time to explore. Our middle schoolers got an early glimpse of what’s possible, meeting colleges and career paths they may never have considered before. Our high schoolers got down to business: connecting with college reps, learning about career opportunities, and meeting scholarship foundations that could help make their next step a reality.

For many of our students, an evening like this is about more than brochures and handshakes. It’s about seeing themselves in a future they’re capable of reaching, and knowing they have people in their corner walking alongside them.

To our supporters, donors, and community partners: this is what your generosity makes possible. Thank you for investing in our youth. 💙

Our Youth Development Specialist, Monique, had the privilege of representing Salem Dream Center to recruit student volunteers. It is always so energizing to connect with young people who care deeply about making an impact and are ready to lend their time and talents to our community. So thankful to be part of such a wonderful event!
