Back-to-School Supply Giveaway! 🎒

We are so grateful to see the generosity of our community poured directly into our students! Because of your support, our kids are heading back to school with backpacks and supplies to help them feel prepared, confident, and ready to learn.

A HUGE thank you to our incredible sponsors, community partners, donors, and volunteers who made this possible. Every donation and every helping hand made a direct impact on the students and families we serve.

Today, we had the opportunity to take a group of girls from our Dream Girls program on a fun bowling field trip! 🎳

One of the sweetest parts was seeing some of our girls bowl for the very first time. A few of them were nervous at first and weren’t quite sure what ball to grab or even how to bowl, so we got to help them along the way. Little by little, they started getting more comfortable, and before we knew it, we were all cheering each other on. Seeing their big smiles when they knocked down those pins made it that much more special.

Field trips like this give us another opportunity to connect with our Dream Girls, strengthen relationships, and spend meaningful time together outside of our regular program sessions. With the school year right around the corner, it was also a great chance to talk about school, encourage them for the year ahead, and remind them that we’re always cheering them on.

Dream Girls Program

Our Dream Girls had such a fun time getting creative during our latest session! Each girl decorated her own mini flower pot and turned it into a special candy bouquet filled with treats, a flower, and positive messages.

Activities like this give our girls a chance to be creative, spend time together, and remind themselves of something important: they are amazing, they matter, and they can believe in themselves!

Yesterday Craig and Renee joined Phil and Amanda DuPont and their amazing team at DuPont Financial Advisors for what has become one of our favorite traditions….their annual golf tournament, where they collect backpacks filled with school supplies. Thank you to all the golfers who contributed.

We are so grateful to be the recipients of this blessing. With their support, we are well on our way to providing children with what they need to start the new school year.

We can’t say enough good things about Evergreen Plumbing. Last week on Monday morning, we discovered the water heater in our community center’s bathroom was leaking, right as we were kicking off a week-long grade school summer camp, with meals to cook and swimsuits and towels to wash. We needed hot water fast.

We called Evergreen Plumbing as soon as they opened, and within an hour, Vinnie, a journeyman plumber, was on-site. He shut off the water, cleaned up the standing water, diagnosed the problem, and looped in the office.

Brandon called shortly after to let us know the water heater needed a full replacement, and then shared some incredible news: Marv and Suzy wanted to donate not only the water heater, but also the labor, because of what Salem Dream Center does for the community. They went even further and upgraded the water heater, doubling its capacity!

Brandon promised someone would be out first thing the next morning, and they kept that promise. James and Vinnie arrived early and had us back up and running within hours.

We are so grateful. Evergreen Plumbing isn’t just skilled and fast, they’re a company with real heart, one that truly gives back to the community it serves.

Today was another special workshop day at Nuestra Casa with Brelan from the 4-H Program!

Brelan led a fun chalk pastel workshop where our students got creative, learned something new, and created some amazing artwork. The kids had so much fun!

We are beyond thankful to Brelan and the 4-H Program for partnering with us and continuing to bring fun, creative opportunities to our SDC kids!

A little paper, a lot of imagination, and some amazing creations!

Our students at Nuestra Casa spent the afternoon creating their own paper collages during a special workshop led by Brelan from the 4-H Program.

Thank you, Brelan, for spending time with our students and bringing another fun, hands-on activity to Nuestra Casa. We truly appreciate 4-H and the wonderful experiences you continue to provide for our kids!

🎬🍿 Boys United Movie Field Trip!

Today, Agustin, our Boys United Program Lead & Mentor, took a group of our boys to the movies to watch the new Spider-Man movie!

More than just a fun outing, it was another opportunity to spend time together, connect, and continue building meaningful relationships with our boys.

A huge THANK YOU to a generous donor who made this field trip possible! We are so grateful for opportunities like this that create special memories and allow us to continue walking alongside the boys as they grow and thrive.
