Another young aviator takes to the skies! ✈️

Makilain recently enjoyed his very first flight thanks to FOAWA's Joe Vulgamore Discovery Flight Program.

There's something special about seeing the world from above for the first time, especially when you get the chance to experience flying with an instructor by your side.

We hope this is the beginning of many more aviation adventures for Makilain!

✈️ Witness history in the making at Albert Whitted Airport!

More than a century ago, thousands gathered on the St. Petersburg waterfront to witness the world's first scheduled commercial airline flight.

On Friday, October 30, St. Pete is invited to come together once again for a glimpse into the future of aviation!

Join us for a celebration of our aviation legacy featuring guest speakers, videos, and a historic flight of electric aircraft from Joby Aviation and Beta Technologies — retracing Jannus' pioneering 1914 route.

🕘 8:45 AM: View the aircraft and hear presentations from pilots and participating companies.

Caleb Kravitz is a great example of just how far an aviation scholarship can take someone. ✈️

Caleb’s first FOAWA scholarship helped him earn his Private Pilot License. Today, he’s a flight instructor at St. Pete Air, helping others begin their own aviation journeys, while continuing to build toward his career in the skies.

And flying is only part of his story. Caleb balanced his aviation training with earning his degree from the University of Florida, competitive swimming at an elite level, and working along the way.

Driven, hardworking, and always willing to help others, Caleb represents exactly what investing in the next generation of aviation can achieve.
