Last year, Jay Cheng lost hearing in one ear. Not long after, he came across Christy's TED Talk and heard something familiar in it, because he knows firsthand what it feels like to navigate a world you cannot fully hear.

Jay is a software engineer at NVIDIA in San Jose, and what he did next changed things for families he will likely never meet. His gift has the potential to help up to 25 kiddos receive hearing care, which means as many as 50 professionally fitted hearing aids going to children whose families could not otherwise afford them.

Meet Brody! ❤️

Brody, age 20, just received his hearing aids through Sounding Joy, fitted by our incredible provider partners at Johns Hopkins All Children's Outpatient Care, and we could not be more excited for him.

At 20, Brody is right at the beginning of everything. The conversations, the opportunities, the relationships, and the everyday moments that define early adulthood. His new hearing aids mean he gets to show up fully for all of it, hearing clearly and ready for whatever comes next.

Another incredible Rotary visit, this time in Fort Myers!

Christy Vogel recently had the opportunity to speak at the Rotary Club of Fort Myers South, sharing her personal journey with hearing loss and the mission behind Sounding Joy with a room full of people who genuinely care about their community.

Every time Christy shares her story, it opens doors for more children and families to access the hearing care they need. And rooms like this one, filled with community leaders who show up and want to make a difference, remind us exactly why we keep telling it.

There's one day we never get tired of celebrating ❤️

We call it Approval Day, and this week it belonged to two incredible kiddos. Nora, age 3, and Eleanor, age 11, were both approved for hearing aids through Sounding Joy and are now working with our provider partners at USF Audiology and Tampa Children's ENT toward their fittings.

For Nora, this means access to sound during one of the most critical windows for speech and language development. For Eleanor, it means walking into the school year with the confidence to participate in class, connect with friends, and hear the world around her clearly.

Two completely different stages of childhood, but the same exciting chapter ahead for both of them.

Every Approval Day exists because this community shows up for children who need us. Thank you for making moments like this possible ❤️

These numbers are hard to look at, and they should be ❤️

Untreated hearing loss doesn't just affect a child's ears. It affects their education, their relationships, their mental health, and in some cases their life. The financial barrier standing between so many families and essential hearing care is real, and it's exactly the gap Sounding Joy was built to close.

Every child we serve is one fewer child navigating the world without the tools they need to thrive. And every dollar donated, every event attended, and every post shared moves us closer to reaching more of them.
