We couldn’t do it with all all of the spectacular board members, sponsors and volunteers, there’ll be a longer thank you coming soon. But people have been asking for pictures so we wanted to share the Flickr photo album where you can start. Downloading your favorite shots!

Many people in the Tampa area film community know Jennifer Msumba. She's an autistic musician and filmmaker who has really been thriving artistically.

Thanks to a grant from the Easterseals Disability Film Challenge and their funding partner Adobe. She is making a documentary based on her award-winning short doc The Fish Don't Care When it Rains.

There are three days left on the Kickstarter for the film to raise some more funds for this worthwhile project. Do yourself a favor and check it out.

From torment to triumph, autistic artist Jen Msumba shows us what the simple life of a fish can teach us about acceptance.

Poster and key art announcement!

New poster and artwork for the 2023

Artist Statement:

The key art design for the 18th annual Sunscreen Film Festival merited a “pop of color,” breaking from previous years strict adherence to the brand’s signature colors. At Sunscreen, diversity is extremely important, so what better way to illustrate our belief in improving the practice and quality of including everyone irrespective of different social, ethnic, gender, or sexual orientation, but through a rebellious color palette.

This year, we’re turning things on its head! The use of the vintage, central image, “Camera Head” reaches way back to yesterday, dusting off old dogmas and boldly communicating, seeing, and understanding everyone’s point-of-view. The eye in the camera’s lens is the artist’s attempt to illustrate that “we see you” and “we get you.” Sunscreen loves you for who and what you are!

Through the use of lively typography, ripping through the lower-half of the design, the artist expresses the film festival’s true independence - 18-years – a number that represents new beginnings and success.
