Alex is a creative photographer and member of ALWS Club. Recently Alex attended a Club Career Trip to First Avenue. He captured photos behind the scenes of professional singer-songwriter Caroline Jones and her crew preparing for a show (scroll to see Alex’s photos!)

For a photographer like Alex the field trip was unforgettable. “I saw the opportunity and took it,” he shared. This experience offered a first-hand look at the many careers that power live music.

Teens were surprised by how much preparation happens before a performance, and by the reminder that success in music depends not only on talent, but also on teamwork and compatibility.

Today, we join our community in mourning the passing of Larry Fitzgerald Sr.

A devoted father, husband, grandfather, journalist, mentor, and champion for young people, Larry dedicated his life to uplifting others. He used his voice to shine a light on emerging talent, advocate for communities often overlooked, and inspire generations of young people to believe in their potential.

We extend our deepest condolences to Larry, Marcus and the Fitzgerald family, and all who were touched by Larry Sr.’s remarkable life.

"Larry Fitzgerald Sr. taught our young people that character, kindness, and service to others matter more than any scoreboard. His words inspired them to believe in themselves, care for their communities, and strive for something greater.” - Mark Graves, Sr. Branch Director, Southside Village Boys & Girls Club

Rest in peace, Larry Fitzgerald Sr. 💙

For the first time in 5 years, we had the pleasure of bringing back the St. Paul Grill Meat Raffle in partnership with Morrissey Hospitality!

A record number of attendees had the chance to win prizes like ribeye, sirloin, lobster tails, and our crowd favorite, tomahawk steak! We also raised a record number of donations that will directly help support BGCTC.

Thank you all for joining us and we look forward to seeing you again at our upcoming St. Paul Grill Meat Raffle in the fall.

A special thank you to all of our alumni who came out to help! 💙

Happy Mother's Day to the moms, grandmothers, aunties, and mother figures who make our Clubs feel like home.

You're the reason our kids walk in with confidence and leave knowing they're loved.

You raise them, root for them, and remind them what they're capable of.

Today, we celebrate you. 💙

Last Friday, our Camden BGC teens and staff hosted the Camden Community Pop Out! A clothing drive for the community, mixed with some fun on the kickball field and time spent building relationships. 💙

Through their Changemaker Project: TLC, which stands for Think, Learn, Create Change, our teens wanted to create a way to bring people together and make a positive impact right in their own neighborhood.

This is youth leadership in action. Young people using their voices, their ideas, and their hearts to create something meaningful for others.

We are proud of our teens and grateful for the staff who continue to support them as they learn, lead, and create change. 💙

Star of the North. ⭐

On April 25th, our Youth of the Year, Evonnie, stepped onto the pitch at Allianz Field and was honored with the L'Étoile Du Nord Award from Minnesota United FC for leadership and excellence.

Resilience. Inclusivity. Dedication. Passion. Teamwork. Respect. Those are the values Minnesota United honors with this award. They're also the values Evonnie brings into the Club and community spaces she shows up in.

Keep shining, Evonnie. The Twin Cities is lucky to have you. 💙

Decision Day: High School Seniors to College 🎓

Today, we celebrate our high school seniors as they announce where they're headed next. From homework help at the Club to acceptance letters and college tees, they did this.

This Decision Day is a powerful reminder of what's possible when young people are surrounded by encouragement, mentorship, and a community that believes in them. Each decision represents years of hard work and resilience, and we could not be more proud.

These seniors are a part of Boys & Girls Clubs of America's with Club Kids campaign, celebrating Club seniors across the country choosing their next chapters in college, career, military, and beyond.

"Our seniors are stepping into their futures with purpose, courage, and possibility. Their success is a reflection of their hard work and the community that has supported them along the way. We are grateful for you all sharing your passion and talent with us” - Terryl Brumm, President & CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of the Twin Cities

To our graduating seniors: congratulations. You are leaders, dreamers, and proof that great futures truly start here. We're cheering you on every step of the way. 💙
