Minnesotans are using less gas for home heating than ever, yet our bills are skyrocketing as gas utilities nickel-and-dime us to boost profits. One hidden fee in your bill: utilities are profiting by charging existing customers for the cost of extending expensive pipelines to add new customers to the gas system. The unfair line extension allowances charge costs customers an estimated $34 million every year.

CA, CO & NY have already taken steps to end LEAs. The Minnesota Public Utilities Commission should end this unfair practice and help lower gas bills for Minnesota families everywhere.
