It’s been a busy summer! While we know that some of the animals we bring in may stay with us forever. It’s always our desired end goal to adopt out to amazing homes. And we couldn’t be happier with the homes we’ve found for a few of our favorite faces 🥰 Waffles went to an amazing family who’s lifelong dream to own a horse came true in the form of a big dog in a little horse body 😂 They love every quirk about him and he is THRIVING and loving the two amazing kids who spoil him rotten. Spook went to a good friend who filled her lifelong inner little girl dreams with a fancy red horse in the field with her steady older gelding. Who will be another trail and adventure partner for her. He has a big green pasture and the cutest little baby girl to grow up with him ❤️ Charlie went to an incredibly lovely family and will learn and grow with their oldest daughter. She hopes to do pretty much EVERYTHING with him and we couldn’t be more excited to watch their journey. Her little sister fell in love with Oakies kind soul and is fostering him and spoiling his kind heart. Clover is also out on a trial foster with another great friend. She might be a short term project or she may turn into an adoption. For now they’re learning and having fun together. We always worry about sending animals out into the big world with so many uncertainties. But we are blown away with our amazing luck finding so many beautiful humans to take them in. It helps us rest easier when our heads hit the pillow at night. We still have a few on the docket to be placed in their forever homes so if you’re interested reach out!

What I Wish People Knew About Horse Rescue

I wish people understood that every rescue organization is different.

There are bad actors in animal rescue. We've seen the damage they can cause, and the distrust they leave behind hurts legitimate organizations long after they're gone.

But don't let bad rescue make you stop believing in good rescue.

Ask questions.
Look at the animals.

Pay attention to what an organization actually does.

Seek the truth independently.
Expect transparency.
Ask where the money goes.
Ask what happens to the horses after the dramatic rescue photograph disappears from social media.

And when you find organizations doing good work, support them.

We don't want blind trust. We want to earn it.
That's also why Outreach is in our name.

Rescue alone will never solve the problem.

Education matters. Supporting responsible owners matters. Working with law enforcement matters. Helping other organizations matters. Foster homes matter. Community resources matter.

If all we ever do is wait for another starving horse to arrive, we're working at the wrong end of the problem.

I would much rather help create a community that needs us less.

“You’re so lucky you get to play with kittens every day”

“They’re so cute I would want to keep them all”

“How do you get anything done with them around”

The dirty truth. THEY’RE DISGUSTING. 😅

They’re so young. They are greedy little mannerless savages who wallow in their food and wear it on every inch of their bodies……every. single. inch. They stink. Because they wear their food. And their p**p. They don’t know how to groom themselves yet. They were covered in fleas when they came in. So they’re loaded with worms. 🪱 They scream ALL THE TIME.

But. We love their disgusting little stinky, crusty, piggie butts. As they get older they’ll get less gross. We won’t have to bathe 🧼🛁 them daily. They’ll get teeth and be able to eat hard food and won’t be covered in wet food every meal time. Until then. They’re a full time job. 😂

Some have asked if we need any supplies for them. And YES! Yes we do.

Kitten update! Several people have reached out about them. A TON of people have reached out about the little calico. She is spoken for. The kind family who saved them off the side of the road have offered to give her her forever home when she’s ready. ❤️ So we will have three orange boys who need homes. In the chaos of getting ready for our big fundraiser I haven’t caught up on msgs and comments. So if you are interested in giving an orange male a home comment or msg us! They’re roughly 3 weeks old so it will be a few weeks before they’re ready to go to their new homes.

Kittens!! They’re very quick to explore the shop while their crate is being cleaned. They’re all eating very well. They still need help going potty. And they’re LOUD!! 🤣

A very unexpected intake! These four little misfits were found possibly dumped on the side of the road. A Good Samaritan found them and brought them home until we could pick them up. They have some eye discharge, and FLEAS! They will have a checkup at the vet next week. For now they’re settling and doing their best to make the biggest messes possible 😅
