Sarah Zuber Memorial Scholarship Foundation

Sarah Zuber Memorial Scholarship Foundation Applications will open Fall 2025. Sarah Zuber, a resident of Columbia County, had just celebrated her 18th birthday. Thank you for your interest and support.

The Sarah Zuber Memorial Scholarship Foundation is dedicated to honoring Sarah's memory by providing annual scholarships to high school and home school graduates who excel in art, creative writing, and critical thinking. Sarah's active life was tragically cut short just before her graduation, where she was to receive her college associate degree as well as her high school diploma. Sarah accomplish

ed much in those few short years, even self-publishing a book. Sarah's senior year was full of college preparations as she planned to begin her third year at a university campus. Just like others her age, Sarah's schedule was full. Along with completing classes and finals, there were college tours, college applications, scholarship and financial aid applications, reviewing university acceptance letters, and working a job while learning to pay bills and become an independent, responsible, young adult. Sarah was excited and nervous in anticipation of her future academic choices, even in decisions on her major, which included neuroscience. But her ongoing passion and gift was in the arts. Sarah was a creative artist, always thinking outside of the commonality of the usual or mundane. Sarah was a creative thinker and a critical thinker, analyzing and critiquing all aspects of her world. Sarah also enjoyed creative writing, whether it was short stories or poetry, or even fiction novellas. Sarah's grandiose imagination always shined through. It is our desire to carry on this fire of excitement for art, creative writing, critical thinking, and the ability to think outside of the box. The Sarah Zuber Memorial Scholarship Foundation seeks to financially help students who have a strong and vivid imagination. See the following page for the application process. Whether a sponsor or an applicant, The Sarah Zuber Memorial Scholarship Foundation looks forward to future communication with you.

New Podcast Release on Sarah Zuber:

On October 8th, Oregon Public Broadcasting will release Season 2 of its investigative podcast Hush. This season, reporters Leah Sottile and Ryan Haas take an independent look into the 2019 death of Sarah Zuber. Their work examines not only Sarah’s case, but also the challenges of declining local media, the rise of citizen sleuthing, and the divisions that have grown in rural Columbia County when answers remain elusive.

There is still a $10,000 reward available.

Here is the trailer for the upcoming podcast:

Season two of "Hush" covers the case of Sarah Zuber, who died 400 feet from her front door in 2019. Despite living in a small community, police have been unable to figure out what happened to her.

$6,283.93!!!!

To all who made Saturday’s fundraiser dinner such a success; Thank you for your donations, contributions, and volunteer efforts!!

The Sarah Zuber Memorial Scholarship Foundation would like to thank you for making the first annual fundraising event a huge success!! We have raised a total of $6,283.93 as of today. This is incredible.

We are honored to have such an outpouring of love and support. There is much work still to be done. We will update the web page sarahzubermemorial.org, and the page for the Sarah Zuber Memorial Scholarship Foundation, periodically.

Please continue to pray for each part of this venture. The next step is creating the application page. This is a huge piece of the process, and your prayers are appreciated.

Finally, we believe it is important to glorify God as well as honor Sarah’s memory. It is only because of Jesus that we know we will see her again one day. That is why we ask for prayer. We praise God for guiding our every choice, and action.

The Sarah Zuber Memorial Scholarship Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Financial donors, keep an eye on the mail for your thank you letter.
