A room full of hope, courage, and new beginnings.❤️🌎

Our program manager Jim Roberts met refugees with local nonprofit Radical Love, and invited them to learn English with us at Literacy Volunteers.

Learning English is about more than language. It is about building confidence, connection, and independence. We are grateful to everyone who makes this possible.

We are still smiling! Students and tutors came together recently to give thanks for each other.

Magaly spoke on behalf of the students, “This experience has changed my life in many ways, and with practice and support we can achieve our goals.”

While Donna represented our tutors, “It makes me so proud to help our newcomers as they learn our language and meet their goals for themselves and their families.”

One evening is not enough to show all of our gratitude. We are grateful every day for all of our students and tutors!

Stormy weather? That was no deterrent to our ambassador Janet and executive director Tracy who attended an information fair at Mercy Housing-Batavia Apartments. It has been wonderful to partner with them to provide weekly on-site tutoring to residents. As a bonus, we got to meet Nacho the therapy donkey! 🫏❤️
