In April 2025 we celebrated our volunteers who have supported this effort for 5-years to help plant 25,000 mixed daffodil bulbs and 150 Virginia Blue Bells at Mount St. Mary Park.
The blossoms were a spectacle to behold!
We're excited to announce we're not done yet! Sign up to join us once again on October 18th, to plant another 5,000 bulbs at the south entrance to Mount St. Mary Park.

Congratulations again to Dr. Al Patten and Maurine Patten, and to the City of St. Charles Public Works Department - recipients of the 2024 Golden Turtle Awards.

Al created the Golden Turtle award to recognize and celebrate those who best represent the values of the River Corridor Foundation. He has always led the efforts to identify the individual and or group whose efforts were deserving of the annual Golden Turtle award. It is our honor to recognize Al and Maurine with that very award!

The St. Charles Public Works department has been a consistent collaborating partner with the River Corridor Foundation providing support on a wide range of events and initiatives. Programs such as the Legacy Bricks on the Bob Leonard walkway would not be possible without their support. We are appreciative their help on Project Daffodil, the Langham Park riverfront improvements, the Bob Leonard riverwalk, Heart of the Fox and many other initiatives.

We also celebrated the planting of over 25,000 daffodils. Thank you again to ALL of the volunteers over 5 years, who helped plant this beautiful display.

So many people helped make this one of the prettiest gateways into St. Charles. If you haven't already - enjoy a walk through Mt St Mary's Park or a drive down Rt 31. It is breathtaking! Happy Spring!
