We’re so grateful to our generous families for donating breakfast and lunch items to keep our teachers fueled. A special shout-out to our Staff Appreciation Committee: Stefanie Aitken, Jennifer Butz, Allison Tompkins, and Laura Pendley for coordinating this delicious spread, including "sand-witches" from Joseph's, and making our teachers feel appreciated! 🐾💙

❤️ 💙 PTO Staff Spotlight! 💙 ❤️

Our PTO Staff Spotlight series continues! This week, we’re getting to know our Art teacher, Mrs. Kelly, a little better! Mrs. Kelly previously taught at Wild Rose, and we’re so excited to welcome her back to our Panther community this year!

❤️ Tell us a little bit about yourself and your family:
I’ve been married for almost 30 years and have three amazing young men, ages 25, 23, and 21. We’ve lived in St. Charles since 1999 and are a very close-knit family. We love spending time together, whether we’re traveling, cheering on our favorite sports teams, or cooking a meal together with music playing in the background. And, of course, our Goldendoodle, Otto, is a big part of the family too!

❤️ What is your favorite thing about Wild Rose?
I really enjoy the students, staff, and families at Wild Rose. It’s a place where I genuinely enjoy coming to work. One of my favorite parts of teaching is seeing the students walk into my classroom with a smile and watching that excitement grow as they get creative and make art. It’s rewarding to see how much they enjoy the process.

❤️ What are you most excited about this school year?
I’m most excited to reconnect with students I’ve taught in the past and get to know students who are new to me. I really value the first few weeks of school because it’s a time to build relationships, learn about my students, and establish clear expectations. Once we have that foundation, we can spend the rest of the year creating, exploring, and enjoying the art-making process together.

❤️ Favorite Hobbies: Dancing (I dance once or twice a week), reading, working out, and painting.

❤️ Favorite Summertime Activity: One of my favorite things about summertime is having the time to create my own artwork. As an artist and a teacher, it can be difficult to find that creative time during the school year. I really enjoy having the freedom to focus on my own ideas and just be in the studio creating. This summer, I started an oil painting that I’m still working on! I’ve recently started going to a studio on Saturdays for three hours so I can continue working on it, and I hope to finish it soon!

❤️ Favorite Holiday: My favorite holiday is really the entire season from Thanksgiving through Christmas. I love the spirit of the season: the extra kindness, traditions, celebrations, and the feeling that people are a little more joyful and connected. There’s something special about all the festivities, from gathering with family and friends to enjoying the little moments that make the season memorable. It truly makes my heart happy and is my favorite time of year.

❤️ Favorite Color: Green

❤️ Favorite Food: SkinnyPop popcorn. I have popcorn almost every day, as if it’s a food group!

❤️ Favorite Sweet Treat: Tiramisu

We’re so happy to have Mrs. Kelly back at Wild Rose and filling our Art Room with creativity once again! We hope you enjoyed getting to know her a little better!

📚✨ The magical Alice in Wonderland Book Fair at Wild Rose! ✨📚

Take a peek at some of the Wonderland magic! 🐰♥️♠️ Our Panthers have been loving this year’s incredible Book Fair!

Don’t forget—the Book Fair will also be open during conferences Thursday and Friday, so be sure to stop by with your kids tomorrow and check it out! 📚💙

Talk about a VIP experience!! 📚✨

This morning, our Dance-A-Thon VIP Book Fair Shopping Experience winners got to shop the Book Fair before anyone else even got to see it!!

Our VIPs walked the red carpet, had the Book Fair all to themselves, and got first dibs on their favorite books! Each winner also received a $20 gift certificate from the PTO to spend on anything they wanted.

Both found some favorites to take home, and we loved making this an extra-special Book Fair experience for them! 📚💙

Today kicks off our Alice in Wonderland-themed Book Fair! Students will have the chance to shop today and tomorrow during school.

Parents, don’t forget that the Book Fair will also be open during conferences on Thursday and Friday, so be sure to stop by with your kids, browse the books, and see the incredible transformation of the ALC for yourself!

Our Book Fair Committee outdid themselves this year with these amazing Alice in Wonderland decorations. From the moment you walk in, you’ll feel like you’ve stepped straight into Wonderland! ❤️♠️

❤️💙 PTO Staff Spotlight! ❤️💙

Next up in our Staff Spotlight series is our wonderful principal, Mrs. Solomon!

❤️Tell us a little bit about yourself and your family!
My husband and I have two daughters and our oldest is recently engaged and will be getting married next fall. We both went to the University of Kansas. We have dogs and chickens and I enjoy all the time we get together.

❤️What is your favorite thing about Wild Rose?
The students at Wild Rose make me smile each and every day! I can always count on our students making any day a great day!

❤️What are you most excited about this school year?
I am most excited for our students working to be their best and creating memories that we hope they have for a lifetime and remember their elementary school as a place that set their foundation for a great future.

❤️What are some of your favorite hobbies?
I enjoy dancing, going to concerts, golf, pickleball, exercise, travel and time with family and friends

❤️What's your favorite summer time activity?
Time outside in the sun, enjoying pool time and a more relaxed schedule.

❤️What's your favorite holiday?
My favorite holiday is hard to choose, I really enjoy entertaining and bringing people together especially if people are coming together to celebrate.

❤️What is your favorite color?
Green

❤️What is your favorite food?
Love Italian

❤️What is your favorite sweet treat?
ice cream is my kryptonite (is what my family would say) and for candy love gummy everything

Help Us Treat Our Wild Rose Staff During Conferences!

On Thursday, October 8, our Staff Appreciation Committee will be providing lunch and dinner for our Wild Rose staff during conferences!

Throughout the day, we’ll have a variety of grab-and-go snacks and lunch items available for staff to enjoy whenever they have a break. Then, in the evening, the PTO will be providing a fully catered dinner for the entire staff!

We’d love some help from our Wild Rose families to make the day extra special by donating grab-and-go snacks and treats for throughout the day, as well as side dishes and desserts to accompany the catered dinner.

Conference meals are always one of our staff’s favorite Staff Appreciation traditions, and we love being able to take care of them during such a long and busy day!
