We envision a world where everyone has a decent place to live. We build homes, communities, and hope. Together, we open doors to a better future!

WHO WE ARE: Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit, nondenominational Christian housing ministry. Habitat welcomes all people regardless of race, religion, ethnicity or any other difference—to build and repair simple, decent, affordable houses with those who lack adequate shelter. HOW WE WORK: Habitat affiliates work locally in communities around the world to select and support homeowners, organize volunteers, and coordinate house building and repair. WHO WE SERVE: Homeowners are selected based on their need for housing, their ability to repay a mortgage, and their willingness to work in partnership with Habitat. Habitat does not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, ethnicity or any other difference. HOW IT'S POSSIBLE: Habitat is able to make housing affordable to low-income families because
• Houses are sold through mortgage loans through a bank or credit union of your choice
• Individuals, corporations, faith groups, and others provide vital financial support.
• Homeowners and volunteers build or repair under trained supervision.

Wow! Wow! Wow! October 12th Columbus Day and we were lucky enough to get 60 volunteers from Wildfire Credit Union Isabella Bank and Family First Credit Union . We were able to work on 7 different projects that moved us that much further in our mission and to-do list. Thank you all so much for coming out to join us!!!

Tomorrow October 1st is the day!!! The Home Repair dept. is accepting pre-qualification applications for the weatherization program starting at 9am til 4pm daily, until all applications have been distributed.

The weatherization repairs include and are limited to: furnace, water heater, central air replacement, insulation of all types, refrigerator/stove replacement or windows. Windows can only be considered in houses built after 1978.

Update from the Home Repair department…

The Weatherization / Energy Efficiency program will open for pre-qualifications on Thursday October 1st at 9am. Repairs included in this program are: furnace, boiler, water heater, all insulation types, refrigerator, stove, central air replacement if an outdated or broken unit currently exists or windows. Windows can only be considered in houses built post-1978.

Interested homeowners can find out more information by visiting our website www.sshfh.org for a list of documents required for pre-qualification screening.

Applications are available in the office from 9-4pm starting October 1st. Saginaw Habitat for Humanity is located at 315 West Holland, Saginaw 48602. There are entrances on both Hamilton street and Holland Ave. Please use the Hamilton Street entrance.
