🥦 Centering meets nourishment in Saginaw.
CMU Health has launched a new pilot program offering free healthy food to pregnant patients participating in their CenteringPregnancy program—right at the point of care. 🙌🏽
With support from the Eastern Michigan Food Bank and a grant from Molina Healthcare, this initiative is helping combat food insecurity and support healthier pregnancies in Saginaw County, where over 13% of residents face food access challenges.
📦 Patients attending a CenteringPregnancy session at CMU Health’s Women and Children’s Center will now receive a bag of nutritious food to help support both maternal and infant well-being.
💬 “By providing access to healthy food, we hope to reduce risks associated with poor maternal nutrition,” said Kelly Ellis, WHNP and CenteringPregnancy Coordinator.
