Meet Ava and Olivia Morse β€” two volunteers who got their start with us through the Blue Box Project, and this past month they went above and beyond!

On their own initiative, they rallied friends and family to pool together some funds, then used their retail employee discounts and summer sales to stretch every dollar. The result? 34 pairs of kids' shoes for our locker, where good shoe options are always in short supply.

This is exactly what we hope happens when someone gets involved with the Blue Box Project β€” that it sparks something bigger. Thank you, Ava and Olivia, for showing kids in our community that people care. πŸ‘ŸπŸ’™πŸ’™

On Sunday, SVSU's Cardinal Success Summer Bridge Program participants joined CAN staff to tackle multiple projects throughout our building. Students washed the exterior entryways, cleaned up landscaping, organized and cleaned the garage, moved furniture, painted, cleaned our infant simulators, and so much more. They say many hands make light work, and these students really proved it.πŸ’™Go Cardinals!
