Alexandria Fire Department Announces Passing of Fire Captain Joshua Holloway

It is with deep sadness that the Alexandria Fire Department announces the passing of Fire Captain Joshua Leon Holloway, who died on February 18, 2026. Captain Holloway was a valued member of our department and served the Alexandria community with dedication and honor.

Captain Holloway joined the Alexandria Fire Department in 2007 and throughout his career demonstrated unwavering commitment to public safety and service. His professionalism, courage, and compassion touched the lives of countless citizens and fellow firefighters.

While Captain Holloway did not pass away in the line of duty, his contributions to the department and the community will never be forgotten. We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues during this difficult time.

Details regarding memorial arrangements will be shared as they become available. We ask that the public join us in honoring Captain Holloway’s memory and keeping his loved ones in your thoughts.

Announcement. We did not sell enough tickets to have our raffle in December. We have decided to move the raffle to July in order to get more tickets sold. We will provide an updated calendar in the days ahead. The gun prizes will remain the same. We are currently attempting to contact everyone who has purchased a ticket and giving the option to hold your ticket(s) until July or provide a refund. We apologize we can’t get this running in time. Today is a dark day in RFD history. Chief Womack was a great leader and a great man. Our department would not be what it is today without his tireless dedication to making Ruston Fire Department among the elite. He has done so much for us over the last decade. We are eternally grateful. We will honor his legacy by continuing to provide our citizens the absolute best every time we set foot on the Engine and Ambulance, each and every response. Chief, you will be greatly missed.

Big congratulations are in order!

We are so proud to announce that 4 of our very own have successfully graduated from Paramedic School! These firefighters have studied, trained, and worked incredibly hard—and they passed with flying colors. 🎉

If you see one of our newest paramedic graduates around town, be sure to give them a big shoutout they’ve earned it!

Today some of our members of Local 4019 volunteered their time to pick up trash on S. Maple from hwy 80 to Barnett Springs ! Thank you guys for your dedication to the community!
