Another wonderful meeting at the Rotary Club of Ruston!

We were honored to welcome Judge Jeff Cox of the Louisiana Second Circuit Court of Appeal, who shared an eye-opening program on the rapidly changing world of artificial intelligence and drones. His discussion about the potential dangers of these technologies and the ways they can impact and even infiltrate our personal privacy gave all of us plenty to think about. We are grateful to Judge Cox for taking the time to educate and engage our club on such an important and timely topic.

We also enjoyed hearing from Paul Lopez, the faculty advisor for Beta Alpha Psi, and Teagan Thomas, VP of Operations for Beta Alpha Psi at Louisiana Tech University, who joined us to share information about their annual Monopoly Madness, happening October 15 at the DAC. We always love seeing our local students involved in activities that bring people together and strengthen our community!

And finally, a special Rotary welcome to our newest member, Jim Bowen! 🎉 Thank you to Bill Elmore for sponsoring Jim and helping our Rotary family continue to grow.

What a wonderful day at the Rotary Club of Ruston 💙💛

We were honored to welcome Jerry “Jaf” Fielder II, President and CEO of Willis Knighton Health, who shared exciting updates about the new Willis Knighton hospital being built right here in Ruston. It was a great opportunity to learn more about what this investment will mean for healthcare and for the future of our community.

We were also delighted to welcome our distinguished guests, District 6190 District Rotary Foundation Chair 2025-2028 Pamela Stewart and District Governor-elect Victoria Sullivan. Both are from the Lincoln Club. Thank you both for joining us!

Also pictured with these two amazing ladies are Ruston Rotary President Ruby Pye and District Governor Nominee Jerry Pye. And let's not forget our wonderful member who rarely misses a meeting, Mr. Bill Elmore! Thank you, Bill, for securing such an amazing speaker!

And what a turnout! We had approximately 57 people in attendance today. A record number for our club! Seeing a room filled with so many Rotarians, guests, and community leaders was truly exciting.

Great things are happening in Ruston, and we are grateful to be part of a community that continues to grow, serve, and come together!

What a wonderful Rotary meeting this past Wednesday! 💙💛

We were honored to welcome Lieutenant Kayla Loyd, PIO/Investigator/Recruiter with the Ruston Police Department, who shared her fascinating life experiences and gave us a glimpse into the many roles she serves within our community. We are grateful for her time, her service, and the stories she shared with us.

We were also incredibly proud to recognize our very own Patricia Willis as a Paul Harris Fellow +7! Patricia’s continued generosity and selfless service to others truly embody the heart of Rotary and “Service Above Self.” These beautiful smiles say it all!

Congratulations, Patricia, and thank you to both of these remarkable women for the many ways you serve our community! 💙💛

Ruston Rotary participated in the A.E. Phillips' Partners in Purpose for Veterans. Fifth grade students interviewed local veterans during the event as part of the school project enabling the students to learn more about veterans that served our country.
The program was under the direction of fifth grade teacher Taylor Johnston.

Ruston Rotary members helped with the 9/11 Meals of Remembrance on Wednesday at the Boys and Girls Club.
20,000 meals were prepared, and boxed for delivery to local Food Banks. Rusty Wilfong cooked on the Karl Malone Trailer and Super 1 helped with preparing over 300 meals for the workers at the event. Many other local organizations also assisted in the preparing of the meals. Local rotarians helping were Diane Hunter, Carolyn Banks, Cindy Hampton, Natalie O'Rourke, Roy Hennigan, Ruby Pye, Billy McBride and Jerry Pye.

Service in action! 💙💛

The Rotary Club of Ruston was honored to partner with our local Boys & Girls Club to help pack “Meals of Remembrance.”

Projects like this are a wonderful reminder of what Rotary is all about: coming together, serving our community, and lending a hand where it’s needed. We are especially grateful for the opportunity to work alongside the Boys & Girls Club and support the important work they do for the young people and families in our community.

What a wonderful way to begin our Student of the Month program!

This past Wednesday, the Rotary Club of Ruston was proud to recognize outstanding students from our local high schools who are being considered for Rotary educational scholarships. These young people represent the hard work, leadership, and promise we are fortunate to have right here in our community, and we are so proud of them!

Supporting education and investing in the next generation is an important part of Rotary’s commitment to Service Above Self. We look forward to celebrating more exceptional students throughout the year!

Rotary Club of Ruston members volunteered their time to help sort some of the items that have been donated to the Ruston Community Christmas for their Christmas in July event tomorrow. We were also able to donate some items to help with the event as well. This is such a great opportunity to provide an opportunity for kids to be a part of something that they normally wouldn’t be able to.
