Chief Meteorologist Jarod Floyd visited with us today about his fairly new business venture, Digital Weather Desk. It was very intriguing to learn about some of this resources that they have available to the public via their website, app, and digital platforms. You should check them out! Lots of exciting things are in their near future plans as well.

This week we awarded scholarships as the culmination of our Student of the Month program for the 2025-26 academic year, as well as a new Louisiana Delta Community College Scholarship and the Allen Tuten Memorial Scholarship. Byron Moore, Managing Director at Argent Advisors, offered words of inspiration and motivation for this winning group of students. Receiving Ruston Rotary Student of the Month Scholarships are, L-R:
Madeline Chreene, KaraLin Hoover, Caroline James, and Melissa Le. Receiving the Ruston Rotary Louisiana Delta Community College Scholarship is Allyson Lee.

We had Christie Echols with Power & Water District share with us today for our meeting. She shared about the commercial development on East Mississippi that is nearing completion of Phase 1. Rotarians delivered 125 box fans to the Lincoln Parish Sheriff's Office this morning. This is just one of the ways that we give back to the community. These fans will help senior citizens and anyone else that may need one make it through the hot summer months. We utilized funds from our fundraising efforts this year.
