Our mission is to collect, preserve, share and promote the history of the city of Roswell

We operate a research library & archives, which are available by appointment on Wednesdays and Fridays between 10:00am-2:00pm. The Roswell History Museum is free and open to the public Wednesdays through Saturdays from 11am-3pm.

🇺🇸 A VERY SPECIAL VISITOR IN ROSWELL! 🧸

President Theodore Roosevelt stopped by this afternoon! How fitting for our historic city, where he visited Bulloch Hall in 1905, the childhood home of his mother.

And the fun continues this evening! Join us for Teddy Roosevelt and the American Experience, a special opportunity to step back in time and meet our 26th president as part of Roswell’s America 250 celebration.

The Roswell History Museum will also be closed on Saturday, October 10th.

Due to the forecasted weather impact on Saturday, October 10, all indoor and outdoor programs, activities, and events are canceled. This includes the closure of all facilities.

As of now, all activities are expected to operate under normal hours on Sunday, October 11. We will continue to monitor conditions.

10,000 YEARS OF NATIVE AMERICAN HISTORY IN ROSWELL

Join the Roswell Historical Society for our October meeting featuring Major Michael Hitt, Roswell historian and author, as he explores 10,000 years of Native American history in the Roswell area.

Historic Roswell has been beautifully captured through the lenses of our community! 📸

The Historic Roswell Photography Competition & Exhibit, co-sponsored by the Roswell Historical Society and the Roswell Photographic Society, will conclude after Saturday, August 26.

With 40 incredible entries, 18 photographs were selected for the exhibit, and 3 talented photographers were chosen as prize winners!

Held in honor of our country’s upcoming 250th anniversary, this special competition celebrated the history, architecture, and character that make Roswell such an extraordinary place.

Be sure to experience the exhibit before it concludes! 🇺🇸📷🏛️
