This Memorial Day, the Roswell Historical Society pauses to honor the generations of Americans whose sacrifice preserved the freedoms and communities we cherish today.

As stewards of Roswell’s history, we are reminded that behind every chapter of our nation’s story are individuals who served with courage, dedication, and selflessness. We remember and give thanks to those who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country.

May we never forget. 🇺🇸

Celebrating Women's History Month* and a remarkable milestone in our local history! This year, the Roswell Garden Club, GCG celebrates its 75th Anniversary. Since it was founded in 1951, the civic organization has been committed to their mission - "Roswell, ours to beautify, educate, and conserve". The multiple award-winning organization has dedicated time and expertise to projects at Barrington Hall, Old Roswell Cemetery, Chattahoochee Nature Center, Smith Plantation, the Adult Recreation Center, the North Fulton Child Development Center, and the Roswell Nursing Home & Rehabilitation Center. ✨Celebrating Black History Month and 100 years of Black History Commemorations. What was originally announced in a February 1926 press release as “Negro History Week” by Dr. Carter G. Woodson, later expanded to Black History Month in 1976. The February commemorations have now spanned a century in the United States - of studying, teaching, promoting, and celebrating the contributions and achievements of African Americans.✨
