GSRT, Inc. President's Address:
Hello everyone,
I am truly honored to be the newly elected President of the Georgia Society of Radiologic Technologists. Thank you for your trust, your confidence, and the opportunity to serve this incredible community.
Each of you plays a vital role in advancing our profession and caring for patients across Georgia. As radiologic technologists, radiation therapist, and radiologist assistants, we’re used to working behind the scenes—literally in the dark sometimes—making sure everything is positioned just right. Most people may not always see us, but they absolutely rely on us.
As we look ahead, our profession stands at an exciting and important crossroads. Advances in medical imaging, artificial intelligence, dose reduction technology, and patient-centered care are transforming the way we serve our patients every day. At the same time, we face ongoing challenges: staffing shortages, legislative issues affecting our scope of practice, educational opportunities, and the need to continually elevate the recognition of radiologic technologists as vital members of the healthcare team.
And that’s why the ASRT theme, “Be Seen,” resonates so strongly with me. It’s a reminder that our profession deserves recognition—not just for the images we produce, but for the expertise, compassion, and critical thinking we bring to patient care every single day.
So maybe it’s time we step out from behind the lead shield just a little bit… and let our voices, our knowledge, and our impact be seen.
As I step into this role, my goal is to support and uplift every member of this organization. I want to focus on education, professional growth, and advocacy—making sure that every technologist feels empowered, valued, and visible. Whether you practice in a large hospital, a rural clinic, a specialty center, or an educational institution—know this: your voice matters, your work matters, and this organization exists to serve and support you.
We along with the ASRT and ARRT will continue to work to make advancements in changing the rules in GA, where it will require more than just a radiation education class to operate medical imaging equipment in our state. That our value as members of the healthcare team is recognized.
I am energized by the talent, passion, and dedication I see in this organization. Together, we will continue to make the Georgia Society of Radiologic Technologists a leader among state affiliates—known for excellence, integrity, and unwavering commitment to quality patient care.
Because when we are seen—our profession grows stronger, our patients benefit, and our future becomes even brighter.
I also want to thank my family, friends, and colleagues for their encouragement and support. I wouldn’t be here without you.
I am excited for what lies ahead, and I look forward to working alongside each of you as we continue to grow, to lead, and to Be Seen.
Because in a profession built on visibility… it’s time we ensure that we are not just capturing images—but that we, too, are clearly seen.
Please feel free to reach out to me if I can be of assistance to you or your facility or program at [email protected]
Sincerely,
Teresa W. Wynn RT(R)(CT)ARRT
