We are a nonprofit organization based in Rochester, NY aimed at assisting Deaf refugee's inclusion into our local Deaf community in addition to general society. Mission: We recognize that deaf refugees, asylum-seekers, immigrants, and those from US territories have unique needs that are best served and assisted by the members of the general Deaf community. Our mission is to (1) provide direct serv

Lan S. shares with us how DRA played a pivotal role in bridging the language gap between her family and healthcare providers through clear, accessible communication:

"Our family felt anxious and isolated when I couldn’t understand the discussions between the doctor and interpreter about my husband’s upcoming surgery. A deaf caseworker from Deaf Refugee Advocacy agency facilitated and advocated for our family in sign language, ensuring I understood every part of the surgical process".

Your support during the upcoming with United Way of Greater Rochester and the Finger Lakes on Dec 2nd helps us stand alongside our clients and their families when communication matters most.
