CURE Childhood Cancer Association

CURE Childhood Cancer Association For 50 years, C.U.R.E. C.U.R.E. Childhood Cancer Association was formed in Rochester, NY in 1976 by a group of parents who lost their children to cancer.
(1)

has supported Greater Rochester Families facing pediatric cancer and chronic blood disorders—lifting burdens from diagnosis through treatment and beyond. They wanted to provide support to parents going through the same experience, as well as raise money for cancer research. Today, C.U.R.E. is the only organization in Rochester focused solely on meeting the emotional, social, financial, and educati

onal needs of children diagnosed with cancer and chronic blood disorders. The C.U.R.E. Childhood Cancer Association is there to help and meet the very specific needs of families who are caring for a chronically ill child.

💛 Please join us in wishing Holly all the best in her next chapter! 💛

After more than 12 years of pouring her heart into C.U.R.E., we are celebrating Holly Dutcher, on her last day as Executive Director. We couldn’t be more grateful for everything she has given to our organization, our mission, and the Families we serve.

For more than a decade, Holly has been the leader of our C.U.R.E. village — guiding our team, advocating for our Families, celebrating our victories, navigating the challenges, and always reminding us why this work matters. Her passion and dedication have helped grow C.U.R.E. into the organization it is today.

When you think of Holly, you think of heart, strength, leadership, and an unwavering love for C.U.R.E. and its Families. You think of someone who shows up, gives everything she has, and inspires everyone around her to make a difference in our community. Her impact and chapter will forever be a part of C.U.R.E.’s story.

While we will miss having her by our side, we are excited to see all that is ahead for Holly and wish her nothing but happiness and success in this next chapter. 💛

Thank you, Holly, for 12+ incredible years of leading our village and embracing Families at every turn. We are so grateful for you! 🫶

Please give a hand for our Advocate of the Month… Neil Valentine!

Need something built, fixed or painted? Neil nails it every time! 🔨

Neil has generously dedicated countless hours helping us furnish, repair, and decorate our new space. From assembling furniture and painting walls to lending a hand at events, he's always ready to tackle whatever project comes our way.
He even wired up our board room with brand-new AV equipment, giving us the perfect space for future meetings, events, and gatherings!

Neil, thank you for always hammering home what it means to be an incredible volunteer. We couldn't have done it without you, and we're so grateful for the time, talent, and heart you've shared with C.U.R.E.!

Our Families had a BALL last month at Wilmot Cancer Institute's Annual Survivors Night at ESL Ballpark⚾ It was a wonderful evening filled with baseball, laughter, smiles, and the opportunity to celebrate cancer survivors and their families. Our C.U.R.E. Families members enjoyed spending time together and cheering on the Red Wings from the stands.

The night was a special reminder of the strength, courage, and community that surrounds those impacted by cancer. C.U.R.E. was honored to provide tickets to C.U.R.E. Families and help make this memorable evening possible. We are so grateful for the opportunity to share such a fun and meaningful night together!🎗

In December 2010, I set out to find a volunteer organization that would connect me deeply with our community. After just one evening, I was hooked. I fell in love with C.U.R.E.’s mission: supporting families through treatment and beyond in quiet, essential ways. The work isn't flashy—there are no big trips or grand renovations. Instead, C.U.R.E. offers steady, everyday support. It acts as a friend walking alongside Families, lifting them up on their darkest days and celebrating every victory. The organization runs entirely on passion for its mission and compassion for its Families.

When the Executive Director resigned during my first year on the Board, I worried someone new might shift C.U.R.E.’s unique culture. Though I was only in my late twenties with no formal leadership experience, my deep commitment led me to apply. In April 2014, I was hired as Associate Director, and by February 2016, I was named Executive Director.

For over a decade, I have poured myself into this cause, working nights and weekends to serve our Families, volunteers, and team. In return, I’ve had the privilege of knowing the most inspiring and caring Families, donors, Founders, and community members. Aside from being a mom to three children (my "Dutchlings"), leading C.U.R.E. has been the greatest honor of my life.

As much as I have loved and am grateful for the 12+ years I have been on staff at C.U.R.E., it's time for me to move on to my next adventure, a new season focused on my family. As an Aquinas alumnus, I am happy to share that I will be joining their team as the Director of the Aquinas Fund and Engagement next month.

C.U.R.E. will always hold a special place in my heart. I will continue to volunteer, participate in events and attend events like the upcoming Golden Gala. Thank you for welcoming me, believing in me, and allowing me to lead. I look forward to cheering on C.U.R.E.'s next chapter from the sidelines. 💛

We’re so grateful for the continued support of Four Winds Chimney , a longtime C.U.R.E. sponsor who shows up for our mission year after year.

Their dedication goes far beyond sponsorship—it’s a commitment to making a meaningful difference for families in our community. We are incredibly thankful for their partnership, generosity, and the impact they continue to make in the lives of the families we serve. 🫶

Thank you, Four Winds Chimney, for believing in C.U.R.E. and for standing beside us as we continue embracing families at every turn. 💛
