The numbers offer a glimpse of what’s ahead—but they don’t define what comes next.

Across our region, the need for care continues to grow. And with it, the responsibility to prepare those who will step into these roles—not someday, but soon.

Meeting that need begins now, with the students choosing this path and the support that helps carry them forward.

The future of healthcare is shaped by what we invest in today.

The Scotty Bear Project Kindness Scholarship is awarded to students who truly embody the spirit of kindness and empathy. While all applicants meeting the basic scholarship requirements are automatically considered for all awards, this one asks you to share a story — one essay on how you practice kindness and envision paying it forward. It’s a chance to show how your daily acts of empathy and care can inspire change.

“Eat [whole] foods. Not too much. Mostly plants.” — Michael Pollan

This simple guidance reminds us that the foundation of a healthy diet is whole, minimally processed foods.

Focusing on whole foods matters because ultra-processed foods—often high in added sugars, unhealthy fats, and simple carbohydrates—can negatively impact health over time.

Small, consistent choices built around real foods help support energy, wellbeing, and long-term health.

We’re proud to highlight our partnership with the National Charity League, Inc., Riverside Chapter. 💙

Each month, we’re grateful for the mothers and daughters who volunteer their time to help create Kindness Crafts for Riverside public libraries and for the kindness and support they bring to our events.

National Charity League, Inc., Riverside Chapter is a service-driven organization of mothers and daughters dedicated to leadership, community service, and enrichment. Their impact extends across many causes, including the American Heart Association, Disaster Response, and more.

Susan is more than a volunteer—she brings our mission to life in the most meaningful ways. 💙 As RMCCF’s Kindness Ambassador, she brings compassion to life through powerful workshops that inspire students and strengthen communities across the Inland Empire. Her impact doesn’t stop there—through her work with hospice care, the American Red Cross, and beyond, Susan shows us what true service looks like every single day.

We are endlessly grateful for her dedication and so proud to celebrate her this Volunteer Appreciation Week. Susan Hinrichs
