Burnout is more than just being tired.

If rest doesn’t recharge you, small tasks feel overwhelming, and work or studying feels heavy all the time, your body may be asking for support.

You don’t have to keep pushing through.

Save this as a reminder to check in with yourself and share it with someone who might need it.

Real self-care isn’t always aesthetic.

We love a good spa day, but sometimes the most impactful self-care is the stuff we’ve been avoiding. It’s the "ugly" work, the tasks that don’t make for a pretty Instagram story but make for a much better life.

Real self-care looks like:
- Handling your finances instead of avoiding the app.
- Saying "no" to people who drain your battery.
- Prioritizing sleep over one more episode.
- Choosing self-forgiveness over constant rumination.

It’s not always glamorous, and it’s rarely easy. But it’s these small, disciplined choices that actually build a life you don’t need to regularly escape from.

Which "ugly" self-care task are you tackling today? Let’s normalize the hard stuff.

Setting boundaries isn’t about being "difficult", it’s about being sustainable.

We often feel like we have to say "yes" to be a good friend, a hard worker, or a loving family member. But saying yes to everyone else usually means saying no to your own peace of mind.

This guide is your sign to stop over-explaining and start protecting your energy. Swipe through for scripts on how to navigate:
- Work-life balance (at capacity vs. taking on more)
- Friendships without burnout (needing downtime vs. hanging out)
- Healthy family dynamics (respecting choices vs. over-explaining)
- Protecting your time (focusing on priorities vs. being "busy")

Remember: "No" is a complete sentence. You don’t need a "good enough" excuse to prioritize your well-being. Self-respect is the foundation of every healthy relationship you have, including the one with yourself.

Which of these "Actual Say" scripts do you need to use most this week? Let me know in the comments!

Today is Mental Health Action Day, and we’re shifting the focus from "thinking about it" to actually doing it.

Awareness is the starting point, but action is the bridge to real change. We often wait for the "perfect time" to prioritize our mental well-being, but the truth is, the best time to start is right now.

You don't have to overhaul your entire life today. Healing and growth happen in the small, intentional choices we make. Pick just one from our Action Menu:

- Take the leap: Book that therapy intake call.
- Disconnect to reconnect: Set a "Do Not Disturb" timer for 2 hours.
- Be vulnerable: Text a friend and let them know you’re struggling.
- Protect your peace: Cancel a commitment that feels like a heavy weight.
- Find yourself: Do one small thing that makes you feel like you.

Small actions. Real impact. Your well-being is worth the effort.

"No Health Without Mental Health."

It’s that simple. You can’t pour from an empty cup, and you can’t thrive if your mind is under constant pressure. This May, we’re wearing green and speaking up.

How are you prioritizing your peace today?

Not all stress looks like panic.

Sometimes it looks like:
- You can’t get out of bed
- You keep postponing things that matter
- You feel guilty for “not doing enough”

So you start thinking the problem is you.

But a body under constant pressure is not looking for productivity, it’s looking for relief.

For Stress Awareness Month maybe the goal isn’t to do more, maybe it’s to finally let yourself slow down.

Mindful & Reflective

Mental health isn’t a destination, it’s a practice of balance.

Just like these stacked stones, our well-being relies on several different pillars working together. When we neglect one, the others feel the weight. Whether it’s setting a boundary to respect yourself or finding a creative outlet to express yourself, every small action counts toward your inner peace.

Which of these keys are you focusing on this week? Let’s chat in the comments!

Artificial intelligence is no longer a distant concept, it’s in your client’s pocket.

Recent studies show that ~60% of daily users interact with A.I. for emotional support, relationship advice, and companionship rather than just tasks. As clinicians, how often are we asking about this in intake?

Join Dr. Austin Attaway (CEO of Life Source & UC Irvine Professor) for an essential workshop on conceptualizing AI through an attachment lens.

What you’ll learn:
- Clinical frameworks for AI relationships (Transference & Projection)
- Sample intake questions to assess AI use
- Ethical considerations & "red flags"

FOR STUDENTS & ASSOCIATES: This workshop provides 3 supplementary or professional development hours needed for BBS licensure.

All proceeds support our non-profit mission to provide affordable counseling to underprivileged communities.

Ready to map out a better you?

Personal growth doesn’t happen by accident; it happens by design. Using a Mind Map for your mental wellness helps you visualize the connection between your daily actions and your long-term peace.

Here is your 4-step focus for the week:
- Daily Reflection: Evaluate your actions and learn from every experience.
- Stress Reduction: Practice calming activities to restore balance.
- Mindful Thinking: Focus on the present to clear the mental fog.
- Personal Growth: Seek out new challenges that build your confidence.

Which of these four areas do you want to work on most this month? Drop a comment below!

Self-care isn't just a luxury, it’s how you fuel your ability to thrive.

When we neglect the basics, our mental and physical health pay the price. If you’ve been feeling drained lately, it’s time to get back to these 5 essential pillars:

- Prioritize Sleep: Quality rest allows your body to repair and rejuvenate so you wake up energized.
- Maintain a Healthy Diet: Fuel your system with fruits, vegetables, and lean proteins while limiting sugary processing.
- Journal Daily: Use writing as a creative outlet to process stress, gain clarity, and identify patterns.
- Cultivate Healthy Relationships: Surround yourself with supportive people who reduce stress rather than increasing anxiety.
- Spend Time in Nature: Connecting with greenery is proven to reduce depression and improve your focus.

Which of these do you find the hardest to stay consistent with? Let’s support each other in the comments!
