Operation SafeHouse, with Community Support, provides short and long-term services 24 hours a day for

Emergency Shelter Programs - Riverside and Thousand Palms : 21-Day Program for youth ages 11-17
Services: shelter, food, clothing, crisis intervention, individual, group and family counseling, education, aftercare. Drug Program: For clients who have substance abuse issues. Transitional Living Program- 24-Month Program for youth 18-21 yrs
Services: housing, case management, education and employment assistance, counseling. Safe Place Outreach Program that links local business, like RTA, with SafeHouse so youth can access services at multiple locations. Peer to Peer Outreach - This prevention service utilizes TAY who reflect the population they will be serving to provide formal and informal outreach, informal counseling, and support/informational groups to at-risk youth and their families. TAY Peer Service Providers are youth ages 16-25

Anti-Human Trafficking Initiative - Operation SafeHouse is a task force partner with the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department to serve and develop resources in the county to educate, prevent, intervene and treat victims of human trafficking and exploitation. ❤️ Our Friends at DCH Subaru of Riverside Came Through for SafeHouse! ❤️

A HUGE thank-you to our friends at DCH Subaru of Riverside for donating a much-needed new refrigerator to SafeHouse! 🙌

Since April, we’ve been without a second refrigerator and simply didn’t have the funds available to replace it. When the need arose, DCH Subaru answered the call and their employees even chipped in personally to help make it happen! That extra show of kindness makes this gift even more special. ❤️

We are incredibly grateful to Tom, Sonya, and the entire DCH Subaru team for always showing up for our youth, our staff, and our mission. Your generosity makes a real difference in our day-to-day operations and helps us continue providing a safe, supportive place for the young people who depend on us.

Thank you for being such wonderful partners and for reminding us what community is all about! We love you guys! 🧡

🧡 Raising the Future: Empowering Youth Through Connection, Hope and Opportunity!

We are proud to share that our Executive Director, Kendra Tankersley-Davis, will be presenting at Raising the Future on Saturday, October 17, in Indio!

Kendra will lead Workshop Session #5, Empowering Youth Through Connection, Hope and Opportunity, exploring the importance of trusted adult relationships, strong support systems, and creating environments where young people feel valued, supported, and empowered to thrive.

At SafeHouse, we know that meaningful connections can make a lasting difference in the lives of young people. When youth have caring adults in their corner, they can build resilience, recognize their potential, and envision a brighter future.

Raising the Future brings together community organizations, educators, public agencies, and families for a day of learning, connection, and opportunity. We are excited to be part of this important conversation and grateful for the opportunity to share in the work of building stronger futures for our youth and communities!

SafeHouse in the Community!

Last week, Kendra had the opportunity to attend the CBO Alliance Town Hall, hosted by Ramon Ramos, bringing together community leaders, subject matter experts, and individuals with lived experience to discuss ways to improve outcomes for children, youth, and families.

A highlight of the event was hearing from Dr. Victor Rios about supporting at-promise youth through prevention, early intervention, and meaningful support before challenges become crises.

At SafeHouse, we know that collaboration and early intervention are essential to helping young people build brighter futures. Together, we can strengthen our communities and ensure youth and families have the support they need.

Last week, our Executive Director, Kendra Tankersley-Davis, MS, had the honor of attending the P.A.C.T. Conference, hosted by the Child and Family Policy Institute of California.

Kendra was invited to present on working with children from around the world and within Native American communities, sharing practical strategies for building relationships, providing support, and understanding the unique experiences and perspectives of the children we serve.

The conference also brought together professionals and subject-matter experts committed to preventing and stopping child trafficking. It was an opportunity to learn, share ideas, build connections, and strengthen the collective work of protecting vulnerable children.

At SafeHouse, we believe every child deserves to be seen, heard, valued, and safe. Preventing child trafficking takes all of us, through education, awareness, collaboration, advocacy, and the courage to speak up.

We are proud of Kendra for representing SafeHouse and contributing to this important conversation.

A HUGE thank you to everyone who joined us yesterday for our Open House!

It was a wonderful afternoon, and we are so grateful to everyone who stopped by, learned more about SafeHouse, met our team, and helped make the event such a success.

Our team worked incredibly hard to put everything together, and a very special shoutout goes to our Street Outreach and Safe Place Team they thought of everything! From prizes and games to activities for the kids, they helped create a fun and welcoming day for everyone who attended.

We also want to thank our partners at Behavioral Health’s HHOPE Program for participating and being part of the day.

One of our favorite parts was making new connections within the community while welcoming so many familiar faces and old friends back through our doors.

Thank you, for showing up and supporting the youth we serve. We loved seeing you!

❤️ A Little Lunch, A Lot of Love!

A huge thank you to our longtime partners at DCH Subaru for bringing Chick-fil-A lunch, drinks, and lots of love to our youth and staff! 🥰🍗🥤

DCH Subaru has been a valued Operation SafeHouse partner since 2010, and we are so grateful for the continued support from Tom, Sonya, and their amazing crew. They continue to show up for our youth in ways that make a real difference.

And they’re at it again! ❤️ One of our shelter refrigerators recently gave up the ghost, and the DCH Subaru team is working on helping us get a new refrigerator for the shelter.

From lunch today to helping meet an important need at the shelter, thank you for being there for SafeHouse and the youth we serve for all these years. We appreciate you more than you know!

🌟 Built to Win!

Our Operation SafeHouse leadership team had the wonderful opportunity to attend the Built to Win Leadership Conference in Riverside!

Kendra, Shawn, Sandra, and Rainbow joined fellow leaders for an inspiring day of learning, growth, and connection.

The conference provided valuable opportunities to learn about effective leadership, teamwork, communication, accountability, personal growth, and leading with purpose. Our team was challenged to think differently, reflect on our leadership practices, and consider how we can continue to grow as leaders and as an organization.

Leadership is an ongoing journey, and we are grateful for opportunities that encourage our team to learn, challenge ourselves, and become better leaders for the youth and communities we serve. ❤️

As the Child Abuse Prevention Council, the HOPE Collaborative works collaboratively to ensure families feel safe, supported, and connected to the resources they need.
