We, Shreyaa Venkat (20), and Esha Venkat (17), founded NEST4US (www.nest4us.org) as a philanthropic platform built upon kindness, generosity, and social good. Our mission is to make the world better through kindness by mobilizing volunteers worldwide to advance progress on societal issues and spark equitable solutions for the greater good. Through five core programs, we address 14+ of the UN Susta

inable Development Goals and a plethora of societal issues including global hunger, climate change, quality education, poverty, female empowerment, mental health, equity, and more. As Gen-Z social activists and nonprofit leaders, we advance dialogue and inspire others to take action in local, national, and global communities. What once began as a small project is now a multifaceted global organization fueled by 5,000+ volunteers of all ages and backgrounds who altogether have contributed over 2.1 million dollars in value of volunteer hours. Our overall vision is to empower people of all demographics to create a more compassionate and inclusive world.

TogetherTuesday is one week away, and we at NEST4US are thrilled to be part of this inaugural national activation led by GivingTuesday and BeThePeople that serves as a shared day of community action, happening on June 23rd. We’re excited to share the many ways our five programs create pathways for people from all walks of life to give back, collaborate, and take action in meaningful ways! ❤

From hands-on service projects and community resource distributions to Speak & Serve events, leadership development and mentorship opportunities, kindness initiatives, and so much more, each opportunity opens the door to a different kind of impact and a different way to show up for community. This reflects our belief that service can take many forms and that everyone has something valuable to offer.

Ten years ago, we made a decision that changed the trajectory of our lives: to lead through service.

Our CEO Shreyaa Venkat’s journey in servant leadership has taught her that the most transformative thing a leader can do is build systems and spaces that outlast them through programs that center community-driven action and invite everyone, especially young people, to step into their power.

In that spirit, she was honored to speak at 250 & Beyond: A Nationwide Celebration of Service Symposium in Washington, D.C., hosted by the National Museum and Center for Service and Independent Sector. This nationwide celebration brought together leaders from across the country to honor the American spirit of service as part of the semiquincentennial! 🇺🇸 💙

During her panel, “What Does Service Look Like in Our Nation’s Capital?”, Shreyaa shared a powerful reminder that service is not an add-on, but the infrastructure that builds and strengthens community.

This conversation reinforced something we strongly believe in: service is one of the strongest connectors we have. It is how communities are built, how belonging is created, and how young people discover that they are not just the leaders of tomorrow, but are already sparking change today.

Through our work at NEST4US, we’ve seen firsthand that when young people are given access and trust, they rise. And when service is woven into everyday life, it becomes part of the culture, not just an event on the calendar. After all, if we want a stronger culture of service, we must build systems that make it easy for people to show up consistently.

This moment carries double meaning for us: as America marks 250 years, NEST4US is celebrating 10 years of impact, with our work showing that community-driven action is one of the most powerful catalysts for lasting change!

Grateful to the National Museum and Center for Service and Independent Sector for this wonderful opportunity, and to fellow panelists, Kelly McFarland Stratman, Cait Leavey, and Antoinette S. Mitchell, for such a meaningful dialogue.

Food insecurity affects millions of families across the United States, and the need for community-based solutions has never been greater! 💜

At NEST4US, our community resource distributions are just one of the ways we respond to that need directly. Our weekly events provides underserved families with access to fresh produce, wholesome meals, and essential household resources that many cannot consistently afford or access on their own. We understand that behind every family at our distributions is a unique story shaped by economic hardship, limited access to transportation, employment instability, and systemic barriers that make it harder to meet even the most basic needs.

Our goal is not only to provide resources but to provide them in a way that honors the dignity of every individual and family we serve. We want every neighbor who comes to a NEST4US distribution to feel welcomed and supported, as well as more connected to the community around them.

None of this is possible without the volunteers who power our work. We are so thankful for their commitment to the families we serve, and we invite more members of our community to join us!

Through NEST Tutors, our quality education program, we’re actively closing that gap by providing personalized one-on-one tutoring, meaningful mentorship connections, and the academic tools every child deserves! 📚

Our tutors do more than teach—they listen, encourage, and inspire lasting confidence that extends far beyond each lesson. After all, when students feel supported, they begin to believe in their ability to create change.

NEST4US was honored to partner with Intact Tech for the fourth year in a row for an inspiring Speak & Serve event that brought employees together from across the country, from California and Utah to New York and Florida. During the event, we shared the mission and impact behind NEST4US, while engaging the team in meaningful, hands-on service.

Together, employees assembled thousands of resource bags through a variety of service projects, including snack packs, blessing bags, brunch bags, gratitude bags, mealtime inspiration kits, and heartfelt notes of kindness. The day centered on corporate giving, collaboration, and team bonding, showing how collective action in the workplace can create real community impact.

A heartfelt thank you to the Intact Tech team for their continued energy and commitment to service. Partnerships like these demonstrate the powerful role corporate engagement plays in building stronger communities! ❤

Last month, our CEO Shreyaa Venkat had the incredible honor of speaking at the 2026 Rare Beauty Mental Health Summit, and she left that room more inspired, more grounded, and more convinced than ever that the conversations we are most tempted to avoid are the ones that carry the most possibility! 💕

And of course, what makes these conversations so powerful is that every person in them brings something rare. Loved sharing these takeaways:

- Challenging conversations are energy exchanges. The generative ones give something back & are cyclical.
- Service is one of the most powerful connectors we have. When people show up side by side for something that matters, the doing leads to the talking, and the talking becomes something real.
- Mental health isn’t separate from the work of building a kinder world, but rather the infrastructure beneath it. Remember, you can’t pour from an empty cup!
- Before any hard conversation, choose curiosity. What do you mean? Help me understand. That alone shifts everything.

Such a joy to share that stage with Sophie Beren and Connor Dalgaard and to be guided through that conversation by the brilliant Judith Martinez ✨

The biggest thank you to Selena Gomez and the entire Rare Beauty team for creating beautiful spaces like these for thoughtful dialogue, honest reflection, and meaningful connection 💗

The poverty of being unwanted, unloved, and uncared for is the greatest poverty."

Addressing homelessness requires more than meeting immediate needs—it requires restoring dignity, fostering connection, and ensuring that every individual feels seen, valued, and supported.

Whether through volunteering, advocating for social justice, supporting local shelters and food banks, or simply extending kindness to those around us, each of us has the power to make a meaningful difference.

At NEST4US, we are committed to supporting our unhoused neighbors not only with nutritious food and essential resources, but also with the compassion, respect, and human connection that every person deserves.

Together, we can build stronger, more inclusive communities where no one is left behind! ❤

“Going into it, I never really pictured myself in nonprofit work, but this experience completely changed that and showed me how impactful and fulfilling it can be.”

That reflection from one of our NEST4US Impact Interns captures exactly what this experience is designed to do.

We built the NEST4US Impact Internship program around a simple belief: young people rise to the level of expectation you set for them. So we set it high. Our interns don’t sit on the sidelines, but actually take lead on projects, contribute to social media campaigns, and help move organizational efforts forward in meaningful ways.

One of our spring interns, Jamison McDole, came in with a background in healthcare and a passion for helping others. Through the program, he strengthened his writing, sharpened his communication, and developed a more intentional approach to social impact. And just as importantly, he left with a deeper sense of what a meaningful career can look like, along with the confidence and skillsets to pursue it! 💜

That is proof of what can happen when you give young people real responsibility, trusted support, and a space where creativity is encouraged.

If you’re looking for an opportunity like that, summer internship applications (rolling basis) are still open!

Are you a young person looking for an experience that will challenge you in the best way?

Always grateful for the opportunity to support Steuart Weller Elementary School and its wonderful community! 💙

Throughout the year, NEST4US provides snacks, groceries, bread, pastries, raffle bags, toiletries, and volunteers for Parents as Educational Partners (PEP) Meetings, helping make these family engagement events even more impactful. The Loudoun County Public Schools PEP program is designed to provide school sites/staff continual opportunities to engage families and begin cultivating meaningful relationships with families, ultimately strengthening crucially important home-school partnerships.

At NEST4US, we know that empowering families strengthens entire communities. We're proud to partner with and support the parents, caregivers, and students of the school community as they continue to learn, grow, and thrive together!
