Not all superheroes wear capes...some wear children! Suzanne and her young sons recently volunteered on a busy Friday filling carts around the food "carousel" to load into our neighbors' cars. We love it when volunteers bring their children, their parents, their friends, or anyone else willing to lend a hand at Belmont. They're all heroes to us!

During Hunger Action Month through September 15, Kroger is partnering with Feed More, a Feeding America member, to collect peanut butter for local food pantries like Belmont! You can purchase peanut butter at Kroger for their donation box, or bring the jars to us directly (no glass, please). Peanut butter is one of our most prized items, and it's an easy way to support us during Hunger Action Month!

Yesterday Helen, Frances, Anthony, and Elena attended the 2026 Cristo Rey Draft Day, during which they welcomed our new student "draft picks" as interns this fall! Wish List Wednesday: The Pantry is in dire need of plastic bags to pack food, and The Closet needs, among other items, children's clothing, shoes, toys, and stuffed animals— Back to School week wiped us out!

It's September, and that means it's National HUNGER ACTION MONTH! How will you support Belmont as we reduce food insecurity in our community? For this year's Amazing Praise Sept 15-17, we hope to FUND THE FREEZER! (It's on its last leg...or more like its last tippy toe!) Thank you for your support!

We're loving having Virginia Commonwealth University Pace Center students back at Belmont! Anjali has been an amazing student leader for us for a while and we appreciate her work and service. We hope to see even more VCU students in the coming weeks!

Belmont Executive Director Helen attended the The Amazing Praise Annual Prayer Breakfast on Thursday in anticipation of our upcoming participation in the 10-year anniversary of this 48-hour, collaborative celebration of giving and our biggest fundraiser of the year.
