Ragazzi Boys Chorus has announced the impending retirement of Artistic and Executive Director Kent Jue, who will step down in August 2027 at the conclusion of the choir’s 40th Anniversary season. A national search is now underway for his replacement in collaboration with Arts Consulting Group.

“The two and a half decades I have been with Ragazzi, working with our choristers, incredible staff, and wonderfully supportive community, have brought me immense joy,” said Jue. “I am so proud of our increased national and international recognition, three consecutive appearances at the American Choral Directors Association conferences, stable finances, and the creation of the Joyce B. Keil Endowment Fund for tuition assistance. I am ready to embrace the freedom to travel and explore other interests, but a part of my heart will always lie here with the vibrant singing community of Ragazzi.”

Ragazzi's next concert on Sunday, June 7 is right around the corner, and tickets are going fast! To celebrate our upcoming South America tour, "Voces Del Sur" will feature works by contemporary Latin American composers, including "Galaxias" by Argentinian composer Santiago Veros! Get your tickets now at https://ragazzi.org/performances/archive/voces-del-sur/

"Galaxias" is written for SATB choir, piano, and crystal glasses. Veros uses crystal glasses and awe-inspiring original text to sonically recreate the feeling of gazing into a starry night sky. Veros shared what the piece means to him:

"This piece will always remain in my heart because it has been the result of the commission of very luminous people who have given me warmth while I was recovering from a hard setback of health. This work is the adventure of mutual support. We are lighting our way, but the neighboring stars -those people who are our loved ones on any plane of existence- create and guide that way with more light than we are capable of perceiving."

Singing Saturday is one of Ragazzi's most cherished traditions! All 200+ choristers, who range from ages 7 to 18, perform for each other and their families. This allows our younger choristers to see (and hear!) the journey ahead of them. We also announce the destination for the next year's international tour! South Africa, here we come!

Do you know a boy who would like singing in our musical community? Visit ragazzi.org to sign up for an audition for next season!
