Among the many stories of hardship unfolding across Gaza, the struggle of children and youth living with PKU is one that deserves greater attention.
While many families are struggling to secure food, those caring for children with PKU face an even greater challenge: finding safe, specialized nutrition that meets their unique medical needs.
In response, we have continued supporting this vulnerable group through the distribution of specialized low-protein food parcels, with carefully selected items such as fresh fruits and vegetables, olive oil, and other essential low-protein foods.
We need your help to launch the tenth round, ensuring these children continue receiving the nutrition they depend on for their health, growth, and well‑being.

Rebuilding Alliance is proud to announce the launch of the first five Gaza Darna Shelters. These private living spaces feature indoor kitchens and bathrooms, lockable doors, interlocking brick floors, and aluminum walls designed to keep out rodents and intruders. What makes these shelters truly unique is that they were built using materials available locally in Gaza.
Our Program Manager in Gaza, Rafeek, is speaking directly from the ground about what these shelters provide, what they mean for families, and how your support can help build more.
Please share this message with anyone who may be able to support, donate, or help spread the word so we can complete the shelters currently under construction and build more for families still waiting for a safe place to live.

At the Joint Christian Advocacy Summit in May, Rebuilding Alliance's Director of Advocacy, Nisreen Malley, presented on the plenary panel 'Health & Humanitarian Crises.' She shared RA's strategy for reopening the humanitarian corridor to the East Jerusalem Hospital Network, helping patients in Gaza access critical medical care, and highlighted the progress of our Darna shelters despite severe restrictions on building materials.
She emphasized the power of constituent engagement with their members of Congress for change— both to reopen access to lifesaving healthcare and to secure the materials families need to rebuild.

Al Aqaba, a small village in Area C of the West Bank, has seen incidents of settler violence. Tragically, a young man from Tayasir, Alaa, was killed, deepening fear and terror among the community.
In the face of this fear, the children of Al Aqaba continue to express their vision of peace by creating Pinwheels for Peace. As they craft these pinwheels, they share their hopes and dreams, holding on to peace and giving voice to their feelings through this simple yet powerful act.

Some of Gaza’s most vulnerable children face a challenge that goes beyond displacement, food shortages, and rising prices.
Children living with PKU cannot safely eat just any food that is available. Their health depends on access to carefully selected low-protein foods that are often difficult to find, especially during times of crisis.
To support these children and their families, we continue providing specialized food parcels containing fruits, vegetables, olive oil, and other essential low-protein foods tailored to their dietary needs.
Recently, we completed the ninth distribution round, reaching 192 families with PKU children and adults. We are now preparing for the tenth round, ensuring they continue to receive the safe nutrition they depend on.
Because for children living with PKU, the right food is not a preference—it is a necessity. Give Now, Give Monthly https://bit.ly/Give-Parcels

Safeguard Palestinian Schoolchildren

A schoolchild in Al Mughayyir was killed along with a parent who came running to help. A few days earlier a school on church land was entirely demolished. In another community of Umm Al Kheir, razor wire now blocks children from reaching their classrooms.

Children should never have to fear going to school.

Email, then call your Senators and Representative to make two calls to safeguard Palestinian schoolchildren— protect safe passage, ensure accountability and defend every child's right to learn without fear.

Last week, Rebuilding Alliance's advocacy team met with the lawyer representing Al-Mughayyir Village to determine how we can best advocate for the community.

On April 21st, Israeli settlers backed by the Army attacked the school in al-Mughayyir, shooting and killing a 13-year-old student, as well as a young father who rushed to the scene to help. This comes at a time of rapid escalation in settler attacks on Palestinian villages and schools, with settler outposts established throughout the West Bank at a level unseen before. The outposts surrounding al-Mughayyir launch daily attacks on the village, as well as the neighboring village of Turmus'ayya.

Settler outposts must be removed and perpetrators of violence held accountable. Press your Senators and Representative to take action by calling Ambassador Huckabee and the Israeli Embassy in D.C.

According to the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) Humanitarian Situation Report dated May 25, 2026:
In just one week, more than 50 attacks by settlers across the West Bank resulted in casualties or property damage, including arson attacks that damaged a mosque, homes, farmland and vehicles. OCHA has documented an average of six such attacks per day in 2026.
Concerns over the risk of forced displacement of hundreds of Palestinians in eastern Jerusalem governorate intensified after the Israeli Finance Minister called for the rapid implementation of long-standing demolition orders against Khan al Ahmar.
In Gaza, humanitarian partners have launched a pest-control campaign in over 1,700 locations, while warning that their efforts are limited by shortages and restrictions.
Only half of all aid trucks from Egypt could offload at the Israeli-controlled Kerem Shalom Crossing in the first 18 days of May, based on data tracked by the Logistics Cluster.
