Did you know that high blood pressure affects people of all ages? About 1 in 3 Americans have it, but don’t even know it. The National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) encourages everyone to take action to prevent or control high blood pressure.

7 Ways to Keep Your Blood Pressure Healthy

You can start by adopting heart-healthy habits, including:

· Being more physically active
· Maintaining a healthy weight
· Following a heart-healthy diet such as the Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension (DASH) eating plan
· Quitting smoking
· Managing stress
· Getting 7-9 hours of quality sleep
· Knowing and tracking your heart health numbers, like blood pressure, cholesterol, and blood sugar levels

You can stay aware of your blood pressure by having it checked at each visit with your healthcare provider. A healthy blood pressure is typically less than 120/80 mm Hg.

Do you know your numbers?

May is Speech-Language-Hearing Month—a time to recognize the essential role speech-language pathologists and audiologists play in helping people communicate, connect, and engage with the world around them. From early intervention to rehabilitation, these services support individuals across the lifespan in finding their voice and maintaining meaningful relationships.

At Constellation Quality Health, we celebrate not only the clinicians providing this care, but also the systems that help ensure it reaches the right patients at the right time. Within our Outpatient Specialized Therapy department, our work in utilization management and prior authorization helps align speech-language services with evidence-based practices and individualized patient needs.

By applying clinical expertise and established guidelines, our team supports appropriate, effective, and timely care—helping to reduce barriers while preserving access to these critical services. This work strengthens the quality and sustainability of care, ensuring resources are used where they can have the greatest impact.

This month, we honor the professionals on the front lines and the collaborative efforts behind the scenes that help uphold the integrity of speech-language and hearing services. Together, we advance a shared goal: empowering individuals to communicate, participate, and live more connected lives.

EQR evaluations, conducted by organizations such as Constellation, extend beyond basic compliance review and serve as drivers of continuous improvement in women’s health care. By identifying gaps, advancing health equity, and promoting evidence-based interventions, EQROs play a critical role in ensuring that women enrolled in Medicaid managed care receive high-quality, appropriate care. Medicaid Managed Care Organizations and state agencies can use EQR findings to design workplace benefits that support women’s health, such as flexible scheduling for prenatal visits, enhanced maternity leave, and access to behavioral health resources.

Let’s celebrate National Women’s Health Week by championing the health of women in our communities and supporting the ongoing work of Constellation’s EQR team. By promoting awareness and action during National Women’s Health Week, Constellation encourages women to prioritize their health by scheduling regular check-ups and screenings, seeking support for mental and emotional well-being, and engaging in healthy lifestyle choices.
