As we've shared before, there are some amazing agriculture products made in NC! 🤩 Sweetpotatoes, Texas Pete, Cheerwine, Brightleaf Hot Dogs, Cheez-Its, Old School Brand Hot Cocoa Mix, and CW Dressings' Date Balsamic Vinaigrette Salad Dressing & Marinade have all made it to the finals in the North Carolina Chamber Coolest Thing Made in NC competition. 👏

Carteret’s agriculture adds $500 million to North Carolina’s GDP with 65.9% of its Agriculture Impact being from Food and Related Products.

Aquaculture is actually the county's top "livestock" commodity, at roughly $337,000 in sales. 🦪🦐🦀 That's thanks to Carteret's coastal geography, which makes for prime oyster and clam farming country!

One month until the N.C. State Fair, so we’re churning back the clock for a little throwback. 🍦

NC State’s State Fair ice cream tradition can be traced back to as early as the 1970s, when NC State Department of Food, Bioprocessing and Nutrition Sciences students were serving scoops to fairgoers. By the late 1970s, ice cream made at NC State University had joined the Fair lineup, helping shape one of the sweetest Wolfpack traditions.
