🗳️ JOHNSTON COUNTY SHOWED UP! 🗳️

Yesterday, we were on the ground in Johnston County doing what we do best — educating, engaging, and empowering our communities!

With over 1,000 people casting their votes yesterday, it was encouraging to see so many individuals showing up and making their voices heard!

Our Election Protection efforts focused on making sure voters had the information and resources they needed, including nonpartisan voter guides, election dates, voting hours, and other important election information.

One thing was clear: People want to be informed, people want their voices heard, and people want to make a difference!

Election Protection is about more than just Election Day. It’s about making sure every eligible voter has access to accurate information, understands the process, and has the opportunity to exercise their right to vote.

👏🏾 Thank you to everyone who stopped by, asked questions, picked up resources, and participated in the democratic process!

✊🏾 BUILDING RELATIONSHIPS. BUILDING POWER. BUILDING COMMUNITY! 💪🏾🔥

Today, I had the opportunity to connect with our brothers and sisters at the Amalgamated Transit Union (ATU)—and it was a productive visit!

Organizing is about showing up, building trust, and turning relationships into action. I’m proud to share that ATU committed to becoming a Bronze Sponsor of our upcoming NC A. Philip Randolph Institute Annual Education & Awards Banquet. We also connected with individuals interested in joining NCAPRI and strengthening chapters across North Carolina.

This is what organizing looks like: labor and community coming together to create opportunities, build power, and move forward together.

Today, we joined fellow members and our AFL-CIO family at the Nash County Board of Elections for a moment of prayer and a conversation about integrity, accountability, and counting every vote. 🙏🏾🗳️

We prayed with Board of Elections officials and encouraged them to do the right thing, serve our communities fairly, and carry out their responsibilities with honesty and care.

Every ballot represents a person, a family, and a voice that deserves to be heard. Our communities are counting on that commitment.

We left with prayer, purpose, and a commitment to keep showing up. Every voice matters. Every vote matters. ✊🏾
