A major new voter suppression law called HB 958 has been approved.This year’s elections in NC are considered to be the most important yet. The bill will take away more than it gives. Early voting periods for the primary elections have been reduced from 17 days to 10 days, also a purge of voters through federal data which is known to typically have errors. 2 years ago, students at the nation's largest HBCU were able to vote early on their campus, and this year that may no longer be a reality. College students in North Carolina are in a constant fight for their voting locations. With a 4-1 vote, this will head to the State Board of Elections for the last word, meaning there is still time to fight and advocate for our students to be able to vote on their college campuses.
