SAFEchild is the only child abuse prevention agency in Wake County working directly with families. SAFEchild offers parent education and support services to families to prevent abuse and neglect, and changes the long-term effects of abuse if it has occurred. SAFEchild has two locations in Raleigh: 864 West Morgan Street and the SAFEchild Advocacy Center at 2815 Kidd Road.

For more than a year, Judith has been giving her time to SAFEchild, guided by a deep belief in the importance of protecting and nurturing children.
When asked why she volunteers with SAFEchild, she shared:
"Children have always been, in my eyes, precious beings to protect and nurture abundantly. With that, I searched for organizations that do this kind of work and found SAFEchild. While I cannot undo the unfortunate events many children, myself included, have witnessed and experienced, I can take action, share my personal life lessons learned, and be the adult that many children need in a lot of these heartbreaking scenarios."

As children head back to the classroom, we’re highlighting one of SAFEchild’s programs that helps make sure they have the tools they need to stay safe!

Through our Funny Tummy Feelings program, more than 12,000 first graders across Wake County learn about body boundaries, healthy and unhealthy secrets, trusted adults, and what to do when something doesn’t feel right.

Today is National Nonprofit Day!

It was a great opportunity to learn more about the organizations serving our community and celebrate the important work happening across Wake County. Operation Big Bookbag was a SUCCESS! 🎒💙
